Before Bai Nuo went to school to register, someone had already given her a heads-up, so when Fang Meng carried Bai Nuo's luggage in, the dormitory manager didn't pay much attention and just did a simple registration.

However, it wasn't the beginning of the semester yet, and female students had already been living in the dormitory for a while. The dormitory manager didn't allow Fang Meng to stay any longer, only giving him ten minutes to deliver something, and didn't allow such a big boy like him to enter the girls' dormitory.

The man had originally intended to help the little girl make her bed and tidy up her things before leaving, but he had no choice but to agree.

These days, the separation between men and women is very strict. Sometimes, even taking a second look is considered a mistake, let alone entering the girls' dormitory. If you see something you shouldn't, it could ruin someone else's reputation and damage your own.

The girls' dormitory building has three floors and was built in the early 1970s. It is gray in color and the interior is clean and tidy, much better than the old dormitory building.

The staircase is spacious and located in the very center of the dormitory building. On the left and right sides, there is a long corridor leading to the dormitory area, with a public toilet and water room on each side.

Bai Nuo was assigned to dormitory 307, which is the fourth room on the right, on the left side of the stairs on the third floor.

There was hardly anyone in the dormitory building at the moment, and the entire corridor was quiet. Bai Nuo and Fang Meng quickly found their room and opened the door with the key they had just received.

Nowadays, most dormitories are eight-person rooms, with four wooden bunk beds placed against the walls on both sides.

"Alright, you should hurry up and leave. The dorm supervisor is probably standing at the stairwell watching upstairs all the time." Bai Nuo opened the door but didn't let Fang Meng in. Instead, he turned around and put his luggage at the door.

"Go inside and check if the bed is sturdy. If it's not, I'll call two female soldiers from the civil engineering department to help you fix it up." Fang Meng stood at the door, not daring to look inside, but he seemed like an old father sending his daughter to school for the first time, with endless worries.

"I'm not dancing on the bed, so it's not going to collapse." Bai Nuo turned around and went inside with a sigh, but came out again in less than a minute. She nodded to Fang Meng and said, "Not bad. The wood used is all non-toxic and sturdy. The person who made the bed for the school must be an experienced craftsman."

This dormitory building was only built two years ago, and the furniture inside has reportedly all been replaced with a new batch. Each bunk bed has been painted with a layer of dark red anti-corrosion paint, so as long as nothing goes wrong, it should last another twenty or thirty years without any problems.

"It feels a bit small inside. If you don't like living here, just go back to the dormitory at the bureau, okay?"

"Don't worry, don't worry, I know."

Bai Nuo impatiently turned the person around and pushed them towards the stairs: "Alright, hurry up and go. Aren't you annoying with your nagging? I'm going to school, not to the battlefield."

"Tch, I'd actually feel more at ease if you went to the battlefield!" Fang Meng rolled his eyes without any politeness, feeling disliked.

Sending this girl to the battlefield would send her into a frenzy of killing, and the enemy would be the ones to suffer. But school is different!

"Remember, if anyone provokes you, go easy on them. Don't kill them. Your status is different now, so don't cripple them either. We can't break the law openly. When you do hit someone, hit them in places where they can't be detected. Don't just kill them in a fit of rage. If anything happens, call home. If you can't reach me, call Old Man Pang's office and have the person on the other end find me."

"Okay, okay, I'm just a little mentally unstable, but I'm not a serial killer." Bai Nuo pursed her lips speechlessly. Sometimes she could be quite reasonable, you know.

Having survived the apocalypse for over a decade, it would be abnormal for someone not to go insane. She's clearly a normal person, so why are you so worried about her?

"Oh, right!" Fang Meng was pushed to the stairwell by the little girl. He had just taken a step down when he suddenly turned around, took out a piece of paper and handed it to her. "This is some basic information about your roommates. You should familiarize yourself with them first. You arrived late, so getting some basic information about them will help you integrate into the dormitory group."

Bai Nuo frowned slightly and glanced at the paper with little interest.

She already has friends, but her friends won't be able to join her for several years. She's just here at school to get her diploma.

Fang Meng could tell what the little girl was thinking just by looking at her expression. He took her hand, palm up, and placed the folded paper on it, gently coaxing her.

"Your profession is special, so the roommates that Old Man Pang asked the principal to arrange for you all have simple backgrounds and should be of decent character. After all, you'll be at school for two more years, so getting to know them better and integrating into the group will save you a lot of trouble. If you really can't get along with any of them, just be polite on the surface. Have you forgotten what Grandma Wei taught you before?"

"Got it!" Bai Nuo puffed out her cheeks, closed her fingers to accept the paper, and said, "Alright, you can go now. You still have to go back to your unit to report for duty. Remember to pick me up for lunch."

"good!"

Fang Meng smiled and pinched the girl's cheek. Without wasting any more time, he turned around and quickly went downstairs. If he didn't go down soon, the dormitory supervisor would come up. He could already hear her coughing downstairs. He figured he'd have to bring some fruit and pastries next time so she could take better care of his troublesome girl.

After Fang Meng went downstairs, Bai Nuo returned to her dormitory. Her bed was the upper bunk on the left side by the window, which wasn't a great location, but it wasn't too bad either.

The entire dormitory room was about fifty square meters, which was not small for this era. There was no outdoor balcony. On the left side of the room, there were two iron nails nailed to the wall above a small open space and a thick iron wire was tied to it. It was probably used for drying clothes.
