In the pitch-black night, a tall, black figure sped over and finally stopped beside the mud pit.

Fang Meng squatted by the pit, looking at the little girl lying face down on the ground, looking very peaceful, and blinked in bewilderment.

"Little Bai, what are you doing in the middle of the night?"

"..." I don't want to talk. Can you just pretend I'm dead?

Fang Meng frowned slightly, his expression turning anxious. He stretched out a hand, palm down, and placed it above the pit, channeling his mental energy to cover it. Then he discovered...

The little girl's energy was as lively as a wild monkey that had just been released and was howling all over the mountain; she was completely unharmed.

Fang Meng's lips twitched slightly as he rolled up his sleeves and threatened, "Are you going to get up or not? I'll drag you down."

"No, no, no!" Bai Nuo struggled to wave her hands behind her back, angrily pounding her little fists into the pit.

"Can't you just pretend you can't see me? It's not like I don't know how to get back." The little girl in the mud pit frantically thrashed about with her arms and legs, like a little turtle that couldn't flip over its shell. Fang Meng thought of all the sad things in this life and the previous life, but still couldn't help but feel sorry for her.

Looking up at the sky, he covered his face tightly with his large hands to suppress his laughter.

However, his constantly trembling shoulders and the panting breaths emanating from between his fingers betrayed his hysterical laughter.

Fortunately, the little girl in the mud pit didn't hear him, otherwise she would have definitely jumped up and hit him.

Bai Nuo huffed and puffed as she rolled over out of the mud pit, staring expressionlessly at the person squatting on top of her.

Bai Nuo said expressionlessly, "What are you doing!"

Fang Meng covered his face tightly: "I didn't do anything!"

Bai Nuo's death stare: "You're secretly laughing, you're making fun of me, aren't you!"

Fang Meng took a deep breath and said coldly, "I didn't."

"Hey, don't pull me! Be gentle!"

Just then, a strange sound came from a path not far away.

Fang Meng's eyes flashed, and he reached out and scooped the little girl lying in the pit by the waist, holding her in his arms. Then, he got up and ran away.

Two figures emerged from a nearby alleyway corner, pulling and tugging at each other, and then entered an old, dilapidated house on the other side.

"Liu Dazhu, what do you want from me out so late at night? And why did you drag me to this lousy place? What if someone sees us like this?"

"Now you're afraid of being seen by others, but when you seduced me, weren't you afraid? Wang Mudan, let me tell you, we agreed to work together to get revenge on Bai Zhiqing. Now you're saying you're not doing it anymore, who's going to give me a wife?"

"That's your business. Can't I just not want revenge? Besides, your wife was sent to a labor camp, not divorced. You still want to marry that educated youth? You should take a good look at yourself." Wang Mudan rolled her eyes with disdain.

She was truly unwilling to accept that she couldn't get revenge on that bitch Bai Nuo, but Fang Meng had recently returned, and that bitch Bai Nuo was just as formidable, so she really didn't dare to mess with her anymore.

If this goes through, things will be fine, but that bitch Bai Nuo will have to marry into the Liu family, ruining her life completely.

But if it doesn't work out, and the truth comes out, that madman Fang Meng will definitely kill her.

“I don’t care about any of that. Bai Zhiqing is the reason I’m now without a wife, and there’s no one to take care of my child and my parents. If she can’t give herself to me, then you’ll have to take responsibility.”

Liu Dazhu grabbed Wang Mudan's wrist, and the smooth skin under his palm gave him a momentary feeling of being distracted. He couldn't help but stick out his tongue and lick his lips.

"Why should I take responsibility? It's not like I sent your wife in. Don't you even know if you're good enough for her? A poor country bumpkin like you doesn't deserve me. Get out of my way."

Wang Mudan flung Liu Dazhu's arm away, hurling her sharp and sarcastic words at the short, ugly, and rough man in front of her. She glared at him fiercely and turned to leave.

With a "click," the previously open wooden door suddenly slammed shut, followed by a gasp from inside the dilapidated house.

Then came the sound of fabric being torn.

Bai Nuo was listening intently from the side when suddenly a pair of large hands covered her ears tightly, and the world suddenly became quiet.

"What are you doing? I haven't heard enough yet." Bai Nuo frowned slightly and tried to pry the large hands away in disgust, but the hands seemed to be welded to her face, and she couldn't pry them off no matter how hard she tried.

"Listen to what? She's just a little kid, what's there to listen to? Doesn't she find it offensive?" Fang Meng pressed the little girl's face directly into his arms, not letting her hear a single sound.

Bai Nuo couldn't outmaneuver this guy, and couldn't really fight back, so she could only sigh helplessly, give up struggling, and suddenly seemed to lose all her joy, hanging her hands and leaning her head back in Fang Meng's arms.

Fang Meng looked down at the little girl leaning against his chest and twitched his lips speechlessly.

He then looked up at the dilapidated house, and seeing that there was no turning back, he chuckled with satisfaction, his eyes full of wickedness.

"Let's go!" With a long arm, he put his arm around the little girl's neck and started to leave.

"The show isn't over yet!" Bai Nuo protested again. There was clearly more to see, otherwise this guy wouldn't have come along. Bai Nuo even suspected that this whole thing was the work of that scoundrel.

Fang Meng sighed softly. There was bound to be more excitement to come. Now that he had taken action, he couldn't let things remain unresolved.

If I forcibly take this girl back, she'll probably cause trouble again tomorrow after hearing what happened next.

"Then watch from a distance!" Fang Meng said, then scooped the person up with his hand, hung them on his arm, and turned to leave.
