Bai Nuo slept comfortably on her small kang (heated brick bed). When she woke up in the morning, she glanced at her watch and realized it was only five o'clock. She hadn't even used the system to wake her up today!

Yes, it's a day of progress!

Bai Nuo sat on the kang (a heated brick bed), first unwrapped the gauze, then got off the kang and fetched a basin of warm water to wash her face and brush her teeth.

After washing up, I took the basin of water to open the back door, splashed the water in the yard, and looked at the small vegetable plots enclosed by logs on both sides. Only then did I remember that I hadn't had time to plant the seeds I brought back yesterday.

Bai Nuo stood in front of the back door, wearing a light yellow cotton nightgown with small floral prints, carrying a ceramic basin in her hand. A cool morning breeze blew by, making her feel much more refreshed. She then went back into the room, combed her hair, took out two thin black hair ties and tied them into two small buns, before returning to the kang (a heated brick bed) to find the ointment Fang Meng had given her the night before. She applied the ointment and finally re-bandaged her hand.

Although the injury had healed, the ointment still smelled of Chinese medicine, and with the gauze wrapped around it, no one could tell that her hand had recovered.

The chicken soup was still warm. She ate breakfast with the egg pancakes that Sister A-Chong had given her when she went to the countryside, and then went back to her space to find her clothes.

Today I'm going to switch to the job of walking the horses. If I'm not going to work in the fields, I don't want to wear those baggy work clothes anymore.

I found a deep blue corduroy shirt, and put a thin pink knitted vest over it, with a few small white clouds woven on it. I wore black corduroy straight-leg pants and black cloth shoes with multi-layered soles.

Now, every morning, 925 prepares her water bottle in advance, using spring water from the space, which is boiled and cooled before being put into the military water bottle.

Bai Nuo left the space carrying a small shoulder bag and a water bottle. Then she opened the curtains at the front and back, leaving the back window half-open so that the room could be ventilated during the day.

The vines planted along the backyard wall have grown taller. Even if no one is home and the back window is open, as long as they're there, we don't have to worry about anyone jumping in.

However, Bai Nuo felt that she still wanted to keep some living creatures at home, such as a majestic wolfhound.

"Nono, how's your hand?"

When Sun Yuxi saw Bai Nuo come out, she quickly went over to check on her injured little hand.

"It's alright, it doesn't hurt as much as yesterday. The ointment Fang Zhiqing gave me is quite effective at relieving pain." Bai Nuo held up her tightly bandaged hand, smiling brightly.

"That's good. What kind of job are you planning to do today?" Sun Yuxi asked as the two walked forward and knocked on the door of Chaoxianhua.

"Get ready to go to the animal husbandry team to get the job of walking the horses."

"Walking the horses?" Chao Xianhua heard the noise and quickly came out, locking the door as she turned back. "Is it alright? Our team has a total of five horses, it can't be an easy task."

"I can ride horses, so I can take them for a walk around the village. I heard from the old man who drives the cart that the horses in the village are quite gentle."

"Okay, if you can't stand it, the brigade leader probably won't object to giving you another job. If all else fails, you can go and cut pig feed. That shouldn't be too difficult. I see that most of the kids in the village are doing that."

Sun Yuxi had lived in the Qishui Brigade for several years in her previous life. Although her mind seemed to be fogged up by something strange, filled with all sorts of messy love affairs and she paid no attention to anything else, she could occasionally recall some things about the Qishui Brigade.

It seems that nothing bad has happened to the horses in the village.

Just then, Qin Xuehua also went out at this time. The four girls gathered together and walked towards the field. The other male educated youth and the female educated youth living in the dormitory followed silently behind, occasionally glancing up at the four people in front of them with different expressions.

As for what they were thinking, Bai Nuo and the others didn't pay any attention.

Bai Nuo and Sun Yuxi parted ways at the fork in the road, and Bai Nuo went to the brigade headquarters to find the brigade leader.

"You want to walk the horse?" The captain looked the energetic young educated youth up and down, and twitched his lips helplessly.

With such a small size... it would be better to raise geese, chickens, or ducks!

The livestock and poultry in the breeding team are not kept in pens all day long, as that would not be good for their growth and their meat would not be as fragrant as that of free-range animals. Even the dozen or so pigs are taken out to roam in batches every day.

However, these jobs were mostly done by the cowshed or by the elderly and children in the village, since the work points were too few.

But they didn't let the kids ride the horses either, because they'd probably be shorter than the horses when they stood up, and they'd get kicked away.

"Captain, who do you look down on!" Bai Nuo said angrily, putting her hands on her hips and stepping onto the stool next to her. She looked at the captain, who was looking down on her height, with a face full of dissatisfaction.

Those who look down on her height, even her own father, should not be spared!

Oh, she doesn't have a biological father, that's alright then!

The captain's eyes widened instantly when the little girl stood on the chair. For some reason, he suddenly felt like his own bratty daughter had appeared. His face turned pale, and he pointed at the brat and yelled.

"You brat, who are you trying to mess with? Get down here right now."

"oh!"

Bai Nuo curled her lips, showing her toughness for only a moment in front of this uncle before obediently jumping off the chair.

"Slow down, slow down, you'll fall again!"

The captain was so startled that he quickly took a step forward. He only breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that the little girl had landed safely on the ground.

The people here are generally quite tall, especially the Wei family. So the chairs they use are taller than those sold in state-run furniture stores. He was afraid that this girl would sprain her ankle again.
