Chapter 254 Don't you understand my heart for you?

Bo Yuheng's pupils constricted, his eyes turning a deep, blood-red color, with even the whites of his eyes covered in bright red blood vessels.
He was like a beast on the verge of death, his mouth agape, panting heavily.
Anger, resentment. Like a burning flame, flashing with a cold and wild light.
“Sang Yuwan, Rong Zhi, you...you are so cruel…”
Before Bo Yuheng could finish speaking, a sharp pain shot through his chest. His body twitched twice, and then he stopped breathing.
"Second Master, it seems the person is dying."
Before Rong Zhi even reached the second floor, the man in black anxiously called him down.
"If they're still breathing, send them to the hospital; if they're not, send them back to the West Campus."
Rong Zhi stood on the stairs, looking down at the stairs with a cold tone.
The man in black reached out and checked Bo Yuheng's breath. His pupils contracted, and he quickly withdrew his hand.
"Quickly, to the west courtyard."
Upon hearing this, Rong Zhi's cold lips twitched almost imperceptibly.
Those who commit many unrighteous acts will surely perish.
He had warned Bo Yuheng long ago.
Unexpectedly, Bo Yuheng not only failed to repent, but instead became even more outrageous.
He deserved to die.
Rong Zhi watched as the men in black and bodyguards carried Bo Yuheng away. His gaze darkened, and he looked away, continuing upstairs.
He pushed open the door to the second-floor reception room and immediately saw Sang Yuwan sitting on the sofa.
"Bo Yuheng has been sent back to the West Wing."
A cool, unhurried male voice.
Sang Yuwan looked slightly taken aback.
The west courtyard was where the second wife lived.
Rong Zhi's act of sending Bo Yuheng back made his intentions very clear.
Sang Yuwan took a deep breath and said coldly, "Didn't you say you wanted to make him wish he were dead? How come he died so quickly?"
Rong Zhi walked over and sat down next to her. Seeing the oranges in the fruit plate, he picked one up and slowly began to peel it.
"They're probably in a hurry to go and complain to Bo Yuanshan and Bo Xingzhi."
Sang Yuwan tilted her head, her brows furrowing. "Whose complaint are you reporting?"
Rong Zhi tore at the white veins on the orange, turned to the side, and raised an eyebrow. "You and me."
Sang Yuwan gave a half-smile, "Sue us for what?"
Rong Zhi broke the orange in half and handed it to her, his eyes filled with tenderness. "What do you think?"
Sang Yuwan didn't reach out to take it, but gave a cold smirk. "I don't know."
Rong Zhi freed one hand, grasped Sang Yuwan's wrist, and placed the peeled orange in her palm.
"Try it."
Sang Yuwan straightened her lips and put the peeled orange back into the fruit plate.
"I dare not eat anything given by Second Master."
Each word, though calm and distant, seemed to carry a layer of frost, making people feel an involuntary sense of distance.
Rong Zhi's heart skipped a beat, and a vague sense of unease arose within him.
He suppressed his emotions, a faint smile curving his lips. "Are you worried I'll poison you?"
Sang Yuwan's eyes were deep and cold, like two bottomless pools of ice. No matter how noisy the surroundings were, they could not stir up a ripple in her eyes.
She remained silent for a few seconds before speaking coldly, "Hasn't Second Master done it before?"
Upon hearing this, Rong Zhi couldn't help but frown.
"You suspect that Bo Xingzhi's death is related to me?"
Sang Yuwan's brows furrowed, and a layer of frost settled in her eyes. "Is there no connection?"
"No." Rong Zhi replied immediately without any hesitation.
Sang Yuwan sneered, "Xiansi has already said it, what excuses does Second Master have left?"
Rong Zhi's eyes widened suddenly, his pupils flashing with disbelief, like fireworks bursting in the night sky, both bright and fleeting.
"She confessed everything?"
"You know the real cause of Bo Xingzhi's death, so why did you hide it?"
Sang Yuwan adjusted her posture, her starry eyes fixed intently on his face. Her gaze held both doubt and expectation.
She wanted him to tell her that Bo Xingzhi had indeed died from excessive indulgence in pleasure. Yet she also hoped to hear other answers.
The word "poisoning" was like a sharp blade piercing her heart.
She refused to believe that her mother had died for the same reason.
Accidents and murder.
The latter is even more unacceptable.
Rong Zhi looked at her, his eyes deep and bright, as if they held endless stories and tenderness.
Sang Yuwan's long, delicate eyelashes trembled slightly.
Time seemed to slow down, a subtle yet tense atmosphere filling the air. Their breathing seemed to synchronize, each exhale deepening this invisible connection. All the surrounding noise and clamor was swallowed up by this silence.
After a few minutes, Rong Zhi finally spoke calmly.
"If I said I did all this for you, would you believe me?"
Sang Yuwan smiled slightly, yet it seemed as if she wasn't smiling at all.
"Would you believe that yourself?" Rong Zhi pursed his lips, his gaze darkening. His eyes were like a delicate and intricate painting, weaving together a multitude of emotions that were difficult to describe in a single sentence. Deep within his pupils, a secret seemed to be hidden, something that remained unseen and unfathomable.
He gazed at her, his thin lips parting slightly, "Is it true that no matter what I say, you won't believe me?"
Sang Yuwan replied, "No."
Rong Zhi looked at her, his gaze flickering slightly.
Sang Yuwan's gaze was devoid of warmth, as distant and cold as the North Star. "Answer my question first. Why did you conceal the cause of Bo Xingzhi's death?"
Rong Zhi's gaze darkened slightly, his handsome face remaining calm and composed, like a still, deep sea.
"Cast a long line to catch a big fish."
Sang Yuwan frowned slightly as she gazed at him. She seemed to be enveloped by an invisible force, her aloof demeanor causing an involuntary sense of unease.
"Fishing?" She paused, raising an eyebrow slightly. "I'm one of them too."
Rong Zhi's heart was entangled by countless fine threads, each carrying different emotions, intertwining and pulling at each other, making it difficult to understand.
"I just want to protect you."
Sang Yuwan's eyelids twitched heavily. She pursed her lips, a large sneer appearing on her lips. "Second Master really knows how to talk."
This is not a compliment, but an insult.
Rong Zhi felt his breath being choked by an invisible force, as if a boulder was pressing down on his chest, making each attempt to inhale extremely difficult.
He poured himself a glass of water and took two sips.
Sang Yuwan's delicate features were covered with anger. "Second Master, if you don't tell me, I'll assume you're the murderer who killed Bo Xingzhi."
Rong Zhi felt as if an invisible hand had suddenly clenched his heart, followed by a violent tremor, like a hidden force beneath the earth's crust suddenly erupting, triggering an inner earthquake.
The surrounding air seemed to freeze, and time lost its meaning of flow at this moment.
Sang Yuwan stared at her intently, trying to find some flaw in his eyes.
The slight curve at the corner of Rong Zhi's mouth was more like self-mockery than a smile. All the sounds around him seemed to fade away, becoming blurry and distant, only the deep sense of loss in his heart remained clear and intense.
"In the twilight of my life, can't you see my heart?"
