The butler's shoulders were slightly back, his body upright like a pine tree, and every subtle movement revealed an unyielding determination and strength.

He ordered his two servants, "From now on, you two are to keep watch. If you find anyone violating the patriarch's orders, report it immediately."

The two servants answered respectfully, "Yes."

Fang Yi was furious. She broke free forcefully, bit her lip hard, and a strong, metallic taste of blood quickly filled her mouth.

She prepared to storm through the gate again, "I'll see what happens today, Sang..."

The two servants reacted quickly and pulled her back again.

She struggled angrily, shouting, "Let me go! If you don't let go, you'll be sorry!"

The servants pulled hard on her arm, but didn't say a word.

The butler spoke up again, "I advise you to keep quiet. If you disturb the master's rest, the consequences could be severe."

A night breeze rustles through the trees, causing the treetops to sway gently, as if the spirits of the night are whispering and dancing with the wind. The rustling sound of leaves rubbing against each other is their most delicate response to the night breeze, like a soft melody flowing slowly under the tranquil night sky.

A tense and solemn atmosphere permeated the air, like the calm before a storm, making people feel an invisible pressure.

Fang Yi's eyes were red-rimmed, and she cursed, "You bastard."

The butler's lips twitched, and he closed the other half of the door.

The two servants exchanged a glance upon seeing this. Then, they simultaneously released their grip.

Fang Yi suddenly lost her balance and fell to the ground unexpectedly. The pain quickly spread from her knee, like an electric current running through her entire leg, and her brows furrowed involuntarily.

Her eyes were red as she glared fiercely at the two servants, her teeth grinding together. "You just wait and see."

The two servants glanced at her, their eyes filled with contempt.

Fang Yi's chest heaved violently, and the rage bursting from her eyes was so intense it felt like it could set the main house ablaze.

After a few minutes, she tried to stand up again by supporting herself with her hands, but the sudden dizziness and the sharp pain in her knees forced her to give up the idea.

She could only sit there helplessly, staring blankly ahead, her breathing becoming rapid and heavy.

The two servants exchanged a glance and stepped aside.

Fang Yi's face turned ashen, and she was so angry that she couldn't speak.

Suddenly, a light rain started to fall again, the air was damp and chilly.

Fang Yi was in a hurry when she left home, wearing only a thin shirt and pants with a coat over it.

The cold wind, mixed with raindrops, lashed against her, making her shiver.

She bit her lip again and braced herself on the ground with her hands.

Just then, a surprised voice came from behind, "Sister-in-law, what's wrong?"

Fang Yi was taken aback; standing up didn't seem right, nor did sitting down.

The scene was extremely awkward.

He Qiaoling's high heels were worn loosely, and she was in a hurry.

She came to Fang Yi's side, immediately bent down, and grabbed Fang Yi's arm, "Sister-in-law, get up quickly."

Seeing that things had come to this point, Fang Yi had no choice but to grit her teeth and slowly stand up.

After standing still, my body swayed twice.

He Qiaoling tugged at her again, a hint of surprise flashing in her eyes, "Sister-in-law, you're alright. How did you fall?"

Fang Yi's lips were taut, and she remained silent.

He Qiaoling frowned as she looked at the tightly closed door, and tentatively asked, "Are you here to see the head of the family?"

Fang Yi snorted coldly, her eyes blazing with anger. "Looking for her? I feel disgusted just looking at her."

A mocking smile flashed across He Qiaoling's eyes, disappearing in an instant. She deliberately lowered her voice and whispered a reminder, "Sister-in-law, keep your voice down. This isn't our own courtyard. Besides, you can't say things like that. She's the head of the family."

Fang Yi's eyes were red and she said angrily, "I told you, let's see what she can do to me."

He Qiaoling almost covered her mouth, "Sister-in-law, there are too many people here. Let's go back first."

Fang Yi heard the housekeeper's warning, hesitated for a few seconds, and then agreed.

He Qiaoling took her arm and walked outside.

Outside the Bo family's main residence, in the spacious parking lot, a black Maybach sat quietly with its interior lights on.

He Qiaoling led Fang Yi to the car, then suddenly stopped.

Fang Yi froze. "Second sister-in-law, what's this?"

The door to the Maybach opened from the inside, and the person inside silently turned their head.

That face, hidden in the shadows, with only the lower half visible, had a barely perceptible smile playing at the corners of its lips, but it carried no warmth whatsoever.

Those eyes, deep and dark, were like two bottomless wells, seemingly able to see into the deepest fears and secrets of the human heart, making people afraid to look them in the eye.

Fang Yi gasped in shock when she saw the face clearly. Her lips turned cold instantly, and she stammered, "You are...you are Shen..."

He Qiaoling was much calmer than her. "Sister-in-law, Young Master Shen has something to discuss with you."

Fang Yi's breathing became rapid and shallow, as if her throat was being tightly gripped by an invisible hand. An indescribable sense of shock surged from the bottom of her heart to her throat, but it was stuck there.

She couldn't make a sound, and just stared fixedly at the man in the car.

Seeing that she remained silent, He Qiaoling quickly leaned close and whispered, "Young Master Shen is here to rescue your Xinglan."

Fang Yi's eyelids twitched heavily, and her heart leaped into her throat.

The man in the car was shrouded in an invisible mist, neither entirely belonging to the night nor resembling a misty rain, but rather emanating from some indescribable aura that sent chills down one's spine and made one unconsciously want to stay away.

"Where is Xinglan looking now?" The man asked with a cool, sinister smile, his voice sending a chill down one's spine.

Fang Yi both hated and feared this man.

He ruined his daughter's reputation and deprived her of the right to be a mother.

At this moment, she suddenly wondered if Sang Yuwan had heard something and brought Bo Xinglan to her side.

Seeing that she remained silent, He Qiaoling quickly reminded her, "Sister-in-law, Young Master Shen is asking you a question."

Fang Yi clenched her fingers, pressing them hard against her palm. Taking a deep breath, she replied in a trembling voice, "Young Master Shen, what business do you have with Xinglan?"

The man in the car looked away and lit a cigar.

The fireworks were scarlet, much like the red tongue of a venomous snake.

Fang Yi's chest heaved as she stared intently at him.

The man's attire was casual yet stylish; a slightly worn black trench coat made a series of subtle rubbing sounds as he raised his wrist, which sounded particularly jarring in the quiet night.

His fingers, holding the cigar, were exceptionally long and slender, the tips slightly pale, as if they had never seen sunlight. His face flickered with light, like a demon from hell.

"Fang Yi, I'm here to save Xinglan."

A sinister male voice, unhurried and slow.

Fang Yi felt a chill run from the soles of her feet to the top of her head, as if something unseen was silently approaching, watching her every subtle reaction of fear.
