Xian Si was taken aback. "President Rong is looking for me?"
Ling Zhou nodded. "Yes, he wants you to come over immediately."
Xian Si was quite surprised. "Alright. I'll tell Madam."
Upon hearing this, Ling Zhou didn't want to rush him, so he replied, "Okay."
Soon, Xiansi came out of Sang Yuwan's office and walked quickly towards the office at the other end.
Ling Zhou didn't announce her arrival; after knocking, he simply let her in.
Xian Si walked to the desk and stood up straight. "President Rong, you wanted to see me?"
Rong Zhi raised his eyes and gave her a deep, unfathomable look. "Last night, did you see Shen Yilin?"
Xian Si's heart skipped a beat, and she pursed her lips. "I've met you before."
Rong Zhi asked again, "What did he say?"
Xian Si's back tensed. "He told Miss Xing Lan that they would meet again in the future."
"When?" Rong Zhi withdrew his gaze, flipping through the documents in front of him, his tone cold.
“He didn’t say.” Xian Si said calmly.
Rong Zhi picked up the pen and signed his name at the end of the document.
Xian Si pondered silently, "He called me over just for this?"
Rong Zhi closed the signed document and then opened the next one.
String hesitated whether to speak.
"Why did you leave the hospital early, Madam?" Rong Zhi asked calmly, without any emotion.
Xian Si paused for a moment, then lowered his head slightly. "Madam said that there was too much backlog of work, and she was in a hurry to come back and deal with it."
Rong Zhi lifted his eyelids, his gaze deep, "Tell the truth."
String's heart clenched, as if it had stopped beating for a second. Her fingertips pressed slightly against her palm. "I'm telling the truth."
Rong Zhi pursed his thin lips slightly, a faint smile playing at the corners. "She asked you to buy a voice recorder, didn't she?"
Xian Si was taken aback, took a breath, and said, "Yes."
She did not deny it.
Who is Rong Zhi to ask such a question? He clearly already knows the answer.
"Where is the voice recorder now?" Rong Zhi asked coldly.
Xiansi replied, "Naturally, it's in Madam's hands."
Rong Zhi's gaze turned cold, and his tone was stern. "Find an opportunity to remove what's inside."
Xian Si's heart raced, and her eyelashes trembled. After a few seconds of silence, she finally replied, "Second Master, I'm afraid I cannot comply."
Rong Zhi leaned back, giving her a cold look. "Assistant Ji, what did I say to you three years ago when I sent you to work for her?"
Xian Si's breath caught in his throat, his face turned deathly pale, and he felt as if a huge rock was pressing down on his throat, making it impossible for him to say anything.
Rong Zhi got up, walked to the window, and lit a cigarette. White smoke swirled around him, and the cigarette glowed crimson.
Every cell in Xiansi's body tensed up, her heart pounding in her throat.
With his back to her, Rong Zhi exhaled a puff of smoke with a cold expression and slowly said, "I told you that from tonight onwards, no matter what happens, you must put her first. Even if it costs you your life, you must protect her."
Xian Si's heart tightened suddenly. She swallowed hard, her voice trembling slightly, "Second Master, for the past three years, I've been like this..."
Rong Zhi took a deep drag, the smoke rushing into his throat, carrying a lingering bitter taste. "That recording pen recorded things that Madam shouldn't have heard."
Xian Si's breath caught in her throat. She clenched her fingers tightly, took a deep breath, and said with fear and unease, "Second Master, what if Madam has already heard it? Then what will I be...?"
A layer of white mist enveloped Rong Zhi's pupils, making his eyes appear even more dark and unpredictable. "Give it to me, and I'll handle it."
Xian Si felt a prickling sensation on his back, and his voice suddenly became hoarse, "Second Master, I'm afraid this is very difficult for me to do."
Rong Zhi turned slightly to the side, half of his face extremely cold and stern, "There is nothing in this world that cannot be done."
Xian Si shuddered, her fingertips piercing her palm, and she knelt on the ground with a thud. "Second Master, I don't want to leave Madam..."
Rong Zhi's pupils contracted slightly, and a cold glint appeared on his lips. "Considering your diligence over the past three years, I won't take the things."
"Thank you, Second Master..." Xian Si trembled.
Bang--
The office door was pushed open forcefully from the outside.
Sang Yuwan, dressed in a black business suit, walked in from outside.
When she saw Xian Si kneeling on the ground, her brow furrowed and her chest heaved violently. "Rong Zhi, what are you doing?"
Xian Si turned her head, her eyes widening, "Madam?"
Rong Zhi stubbed out his cigarette and opened the window. Then, he turned around, his eyes slightly narrowed, and said in a mocking tone, "Assistant Ji, I just wanted you to do me a small favor, and you pulled this stunt."
Xian Si's heart pounded, her breath quickened, "President Rong, I..."
Sang Yuwan walked to her side, her eyelids slightly lowered, and scolded in a low voice, "Get up now."
Xian Si bit her lip, slowly stood up, and silently retreated behind Sang Yuwan.
"What did President Rong ask you to do?" Sang Yuwan asked coldly.
With difficulty, Xian Si began, "He asked me to give him the recording pen."
Sang Yuwan looked at Rong Zhi and clearly sensed his expression stiffen for a moment. His gaze darkened, and he said to Xian Si, "You can go out now."
"Yes." Xuan Si walked out in a panic.
The office door closed gently, and the air suddenly became still.
Sang Yuwan's dark eyes were deep and unfathomable, like a vortex that could swallow a person whole. "Rong Zhi, do you want to erase the conversation between Shen Yilin and you?"
Rong Zhi lowered his eyelids, his gaze reflecting her exquisite face. That face held anger, yet also a touch of sorrow. A pang shot through his heart, and he replied softly, "Yes."
Sang Yuwan's body trembled slightly. "Rong Zhi, tell me, what exactly do you know?"
Rong Zhi took a deep breath and walked to her side. He reached out and took her arm. "I just don't want you to be affected by such filthy words."
Sang Yuwan's gaze paused for a moment, then she laughed angrily, "Is that so?"
Rong Zhi's eyes remained calm. "Yes."
Sang Yuwan could never believe it. She curled her lips into a sneer, "A man's mouth is a lying devil."
Rong Zhi raised an eyebrow slightly, his expression showing no sign of panic. "I told you, you can try to trust me."
Sang Yuwan broke free from his hand, turned around, and walked to the desk.
Rong Zhi also turned to the side, looking at her back with a complex and intense gaze, as if trying to pierce through her.
"Young Master Rong, stop pretending." Sang Yuwan looked at the stack of documents on the desk and spoke coldly.
"It seems that Madam is already aware of my background." Rong Zhi's deep, magnetic voice carried a hint of loneliness and helplessness.
Sang Yuwan's heart felt shrouded in a thin mist, utterly heavy. Suddenly, a cold smile appeared on her lips. She walked behind her desk, pulled out her executive chair, and sat down directly.
She looked at Rong Zhi without saying a word.
Rong Zhi's heart suddenly clenched, leaving him feeling empty and inexplicably panicked.
Time flowed quietly, and the temperature in the office grew lower and lower.
Before Rong Zhi could speak, Sang Yuwan spoke first.
"Young Master Rong, as the heir of the Rong family, isn't it a bit of a waste of your talents to be a mere vice president here?"
