Chapter 137 Rong Zhi's Second Identity

Ning Xin'er's face turned pale, filled with fear and unease. "Sister-in-law, I'll go out right away."
Inside the office, the air seemed to solidify into a heavy, suffocating weight.
Ning Wanzhen refused to let Ning Xin'er leave, saying, "You stay here quietly and don't go anywhere."
Time seemed to stand still, and an indescribable tension and anticipation filled the air.
Ning Xin'er's eyes were red and her face showed difficulty. "Auntie."
Minglang entered quickly, "Madam."
Just as Sang Yuwan was about to speak, Ning Xin'er, disregarding Ning Wanzhen's objections, hurriedly ran out. She wiped away tears as she ran, as if she had suffered a tremendous injustice.
Ning Wanzhen's temples bulged with anger, and she slammed her hand heavily on the desk. "You..."
Minglang looked nervous. "Madam?"
Sang Yuwan said coldly, "It's nothing. Go out."
As she spoke, she gave Minglang a meaningful look.
Minglang understood, "Yes, madam."
Thud—
The office door closed gently.
Sang Yuwan got up and personally poured Ning Wanzhen a glass of water.
Bang--
In a fit of anger, Sang Yuwan threw the teacup on the ground.
The white porcelain teacup shattered into pieces in an instant. The carpet was covered in water stains.
Sang Yuwan forced herself to remain calm and sat down again. "Mom, do you really have to do this?"
"That's what I should be asking you." Ning Wanzhen's anger rose even higher, and her features became slightly ferocious.
Sang Yuwan's heart felt as if it were being tightly gripped by an invisible hand, and a wave of fear and unease surged over him, almost overwhelming him.
"Mom, what good will it do you to make a scene?"
Ning Wanzhen snorted coldly, "The Bo family doesn't need a promiscuous woman to be the head of the family."
Sang Yuwan's heart sank.
The air suddenly became still, so still that only one's own heartbeat could be heard. Each beat seemed to remind Sang Yuwan that danger lurked in the boundless darkness, ready to bare its fangs at any moment.
She asked coldly, "What did I do to make you so angry?"
Ning Wanzhen grabbed the photo and threw it at her, saying, "Take a good look at it yourself."
The corner of the photo brushed across Sang Yuwan's face, leaving a thin, small cut.
It stung slightly, like being stung by a bee.
Sang Yuwan's expression changed, her pretty face hardening with frost. "You suspect me and Rong Zhi?"
Ning Wanzhen retorted angrily, "The facts are right in front of you, what excuses do you have?"
"The facts?" Sang Yuwan's lips curled into a cold smile. "A few secretly taken photos, and you've convicted me? That's utterly ridiculous."
Ning Wanzhen was so angry that she trembled all over and could hardly stand. She grabbed the edge of the desk and slowly sat down.
“After Xingzhi died, I warned you many times to keep your distance from him. But what did you do? Not only did you ignore my words, but you also let him return to the Bo family. We are both women, don’t think I don’t know what you’re up to.”
Sang Yuwan scoffed, "What are my intentions?"
Ning Wanzhen gritted her teeth, "Xingzhi just left, and you're already in a hurry to find someone else. Sang Yuwan, how can you face Yuanshan and Xingzhi?"
Sang Yuwan's face grew even more frosty, and her tone became even more somber, "Mom, the one who should apologize is your son."
Ning Wanzhen's heart clenched painfully, her eyes reddening. "What did you say?"
Sang Yuwan took a deep breath, preparing to open the drawer, when Rong Zhi pushed the door open and walked in.
He glanced at Ning Wanzhen, his eyebrows slightly lowered, "Mother, you have time to come to the company today?"
Ning Wanzhen was seething with anger and glared at him fiercely, "Isn't this all your doing?"
Rong Zhi walked over, glanced at the broken teacup on the carpet, and sneered, "What's the big deal that you're so angry about?"
Ning Wanzhen angrily retorted, "How dare you ask..."
Rong Zhi noticed the small wounds on Sang Yuwan's face, his expression darkened, and his jawline became very sharp. "What happened?"
Sang Yuwan glanced down at the photo on the ground. "Look for yourself."
Rong Zhi bent down and picked up the photos. His eyelids lowered slightly as he looked at them one by one. A large, sarcastic smile appeared in his eyes. "Mother, this trick of shifting blame has actually made you defy the head of the family. I think you've wasted all these years."
A metallic taste rose in Ning Wanzhen's throat, "You..."
Seeing this, Sang Yuwan unscrewed her thermos, took a couple of sips of water, and slowly said, "I'm afraid it's not just about these few photos?"
Rong Zhi's eyes flickered. "Is there anything else?"
Sang Yuwan remained silent.
Rong Zhi smiled enigmatically. "Could it be because of the share transfer?"
Ning Wanzhen's heart sank, her face turning pale. "Don't change the subject. Even without these photos, I know you're not innocent."
Sang Yuwan's expression changed drastically.
Rong Zhi curled his lips and narrowed his eyes. "Mother, it's alright to humiliate me, but framing the head of the family is punishable severely."
This is the second time he has emphasized his current status as an elderly man.
In Ning Wanzhen's view, this is what it means to protect.
She pointed at them and yelled, "Did I wrong you? What were you doing on the rooftop all day yesterday?"
Sang Yuwan's eyelids twitched.
Rong Zhi spoke softly, "Mother, did you install surveillance cameras in the company, or did you plant spies?"
Seeing that he didn't rush to deny it, and that Sang Yuwan remained silent, Ning Wanzhen became even more convinced that there was something going on between them.
"The bodies are barely cold, and you..."
Sang Yuwan, unable to bear it any longer, interrupted coldly, "Answer Second Master's question first."
Ning Wanzhen was taken aback.
Rong Zhi folded the photo and placed it in front of Sang Yuwan. Then, he pulled out a chair and sat down.
Sang Yuwan spoke up again, "Mom, I believe you didn't do either of those things."
Ning Wanzhen's heart skipped a beat. "So what if I did it? So what if I didn't?"
Sang Yuwan replied, "If you didn't do it, nothing will happen to you. I'll treat today's incident as a misunderstanding. If you really did plant spies around me, then our relationship ends here."
Ning Wanzhen's expression froze, and the corner of her mouth twitched.
Rong Zhi crossed his legs, his posture both arrogant and relaxed.
Sang Yuwan added, "Mom, there's no one else here, so let's just talk things out. This isn't the first time you've suspected me and Rong Zhi."
Rong Zhi's eyebrows twitched slightly, and he interjected, "Every piece of evidence we get is just photoshopped images by others."
Ning Wanzhen's facial muscles twitched slightly. "What makes you think these photos are photoshopped?"
Rong Zhi raised an eyebrow. "Chairman, may I borrow your computer?"
Sang Yuwan pushed the laptop on her right over.
Rong Zhi took out his phone and scanned all the photos into the computer.
Then, he tapped the keyboard with his ten fingers.
The original photos were found one by one.
Sang Yuwan looked at it and suddenly felt a chill run down her spine.
Rong Zhi.
Mr. R.
Could Rong Zhi be Mr. R?
A hint of surprise flashed in her eyes.
Rong Zhi didn't notice the change in her expression and gently pushed the laptop in front of Ning Wanzhen.
"Mother, take a good look."
