A dark green softcover copy.
I feel like I've seen Sang Yuwan somewhere before.
She took it and saw the familiar handwriting. Her pupils contracted immediately. "This is Xinglan's diary?"
Rong Zhi nodded. "Mm."
"How did her diary end up in your hands?" Sang Yuwan asked, surprised and puzzled.
Rong Zhi replied, "She was brought by Shen Qingchen."
Sang Yuwan was stunned for half a second, then realized what was happening, her face darkened instantly, and she slammed the diary shut with a "snap".
Rong Zhi raised an eyebrow. "Aren't you going to read what's written inside?"
Sang Yuwan's lips curled into a cold smile, her pretty face turning frosty. "It's nothing but fabricated lies, what's there to see?"
Rong Zhi looked at her with admiration, "As expected of the head of the Bo family."
"Stop being so glib. Tell me, why did Shen Yilin send Shen Qingchen here?" Sang Yuwan said coldly.
Rong Zhi's voice was neither loud nor soft, "I don't understand."
"Is there anything you don't understand?" Sang Yuwan's lips curled into a smile.
Rong Zhi pressed an internal phone button. "Bring in a cup of coffee. An Americano, sugar-free."
"Okay, Mr. Rong." The person who answered the phone was Mina, one of Sang Yuwan's secretaries.
Soon, Mina came in carrying a cup of coffee.
She saw Rong Zhi and Sang Yuwan sitting face to face, neither of them speaking, and couldn't help but feel that the atmosphere was a little awkward.
Rumors are circulating within the company that the chairman doesn't have a very good relationship with President Rong; otherwise, she wouldn't have only given him a deputy position. Instead, she's hiring a different professional manager.
Mina put down her coffee and said nervously, "Mr. Rong, here's your coffee."
"Hmm." Rong Zhi pursed his thin lips and coldly suppressed a sound.
Mina glanced at Sang Yuwan's teacup and added, "Chairman, would you like some more water?"
"No need," Sang Yuwan said coldly, her expression stern.
Mina quickly went out and gently closed the office door behind her.
"Hoo..." She stood at the door and took two deep breaths.
Minglang happened to come over and, seeing this, frowned slightly. "What's wrong?"
Mina shook her head. "Nothing?"
Seeing that Minglang was about to push the door open, she hurriedly grabbed him, "Assistant Ming, the chairman is talking to President Rong. Please wait a moment before going in."
Minglang was taken aback and muttered softly, "Didn't Second Master go to the old house? Why is he back so soon?"
Mina raised her hand and waved it in front of his eyes. "Assistant Ming, what are you thinking about?"
Minglang suddenly snapped back to reality, "It's nothing."
After saying that, he let go of her hand. Turning around, he was about to walk towards the tea area when he asked, "Has Assistant Ji not returned yet?"
Mina shook her head. "No."
Minglang's heart sank.
Inside the office.
Rong Zhi took a couple of sips of coffee before speaking again, "I really don't understand Shen Yilin's move."
“Really?” Sang Yuwan replied while flipping through the documents.
She lowered her head slightly, her long hair styled in a bun. An air of elegance tinged with a touch of aloofness.
Rong Zhi sat with his legs crossed, in a languid posture. He looked more like a friend than a subordinate of Sang Yuwan.
His dark pupils were filled with tenderness.
"If you have nothing else to say, you can leave," Sang Yuwan said as she signed the papers.
"You're kicking me out before I've even finished my coffee?" Rong Zhi raised an eyebrow, a hint of mockery in his eyes.
"Don't you have any coffee over there?" Sang Yuwan looked up and glared at him.
Rong Zhi curled his lip slightly, "The coffee over there is nowhere as good as yours."
Sang Yuwan frowned, her face turning cold, and said sarcastically, "What a clumsy compliment."
Rong Zhi chuckled softly.
Sang Yuwan looked away and picked up another document to look through.
The air in the office suddenly became quiet.
The only sound was the soft rustling of pages turning.
Sang Yuwan knew that Rong Zhi was sitting still, so he must have something else to do.
She didn't urge her.
Bo Yuanshan had taught her that those in power should avoid showing their emotions.
Although she often struggles to control her emotions when she's with Rong Zhi, she's been much better these past two days.
"Shen Qingchen asked me to tell you that the Shen family owes you a favor this time. If you ever need anything in the future, just let us know," Rong Zhi said coldly.
Sang Yuwan sneered, "This favor comes at the cost of Xinglan. If I had a better option, I would rather not have it."
Rong Zhi held the coffee cup in his left palm and spoke softly, "You don't need to blame yourself. The root of the problem lies with Bo Hanshan."
Sang Yuwan looked up again, "Have you seen him at the hospital? How is he?"
Rong Zhi pursed his lips, "I won't die for now."
Sang Yuwan asked again, "What is Bo Yuheng doing?"
Rong Zhi took a sip of coffee and replied, "He didn't go back to the Bo family's old house, but instead took He Qiaoling to Century Flower City."
Sang Yuwan's lips curled up slightly. "Is he planning to settle down and live a quiet life?"
Rong Zhi sneered, "Can he keep quiet?"
Sang Yuwan parted her thin lips slightly, "The people who bailed him out were the Shen family."
Rong Zhi's eyes shone brightly. "The chairman is practically a female Zhuge Liang. She can predict the outcome with just a few calculations."
Sang Yuwan rolled her eyes at him, "Stop flattering me."
Rong Zhi smiled faintly, "If flattery were useful, the chairman wouldn't have only assigned me a vice president position."
Sang Yuwan's brow twitched slightly, and she asked casually, "What? Not satisfied?"
Rong Zhi smiled and said, "How could I be dissatisfied? With the old chairman in charge, this is a height I can never reach."
Sang Yuwan's heart tightened, and her pretty face tensed slightly.
Rong Zhi's words contained a lot of information.
Everything about him is a taboo subject in the Bo family.
Despite threats and inducements, no one dared to speak out.
As for his identity information, nothing can be found online.
Sang Yuwan even asked "Mr. R" for help, but still got nowhere.
She had suspected that Rong Zhi had some connection with the Rong family in the capital, and sent people to investigate secretly. They discovered that he had no connection with the Rong family whatsoever.
This man is like a mystery.
Sang Yuwan was silent for a few seconds, her smile not reaching her eyes, "You mean, they are wary of you?"
Rong Zhi finished his coffee, the bitterness lingering, and even his smile seemed tinged with melancholy. "You think they're afraid of me?"
Sang Yuwan stared at him intently. "Otherwise what?"
Rong Zhi smiled and said, "Thank you for your affirmation."
Sang Yuwan was slightly taken aback. Seeing the inexplicable smile in his eyes, her face darkened with anger. "Get out."
"Okay." Rong Zhi was quite self-aware this time, immediately stood up, and even put the chair back in its place.
Sang Yuwan watched his departing figure, recalling his last question, her heart filled with doubt.
With Rong Zhi's abilities and methods, it would be a shame if he didn't become a CEO.
Why did Bo Yuanshan only assign him a ministerial position?
The difference in status between biological children and adopted children is obvious.
Bo Yuanshan's blatant favoritism shows he doesn't care what others will say.
For someone who cares so much about his reputation, this behavior is truly baffling.
