Chapter 56 Love at First Sleep

The lights under the pillars fell silently.
Everything around was quiet.
The two figures are depicted in fragmented silhouettes, conveying ambiguity and intimacy.
Rong Zhi held her tightly, and Sang Yuwan's heart was pounding wildly, almost bursting out of her chest.
The standoff lasted for several seconds.
She gritted her teeth, "Let go of me now."
His voice was low, tinged with anger.
Rong Zhi stood firm like a mountain, unmoved, "I won't let go."
Sang Yuwan's face flushed red, and she scolded again in a low voice, "If you keep doing this, I'll call for help."
Rong Zhi said calmly, "There is no one else here besides us."
Sang Yuwan stiffened, her back pressed tightly against the pillar.
The shadows of the trees swayed in the distance.
Minglang has long since disappeared.
"Don't force me to take action," Sang Yuwan said angrily.
Rong Zhi lowered his eyelids slightly, gazing intently at her, his expression unreadable. After a few seconds of silence, he suddenly kissed her forehead.
A warm breath suddenly swept over me.
At that moment, it felt as if an extremely strong electric current was flowing through her body, and Sang Yuwan felt an unprecedented surge of emotion.
My heart was pounding uncontrollably.
She was about to speak.
Rong Zhi's gentle, feather-like kisses landed on the corners of her eyes and the tip of her nose. Finally, they rested on her rosy lips.
Their breaths mingled together.
The air around the two of them suddenly heated up.
A faint fragrance of flowers wafts through the air.
Unlike his previous domineering kisses, this time Rong Zhi's kiss was gentle, and even seemed somewhat affectionate.
Sang Yuwan almost fell for his gentle advances.
Seeing that things were about to get out of control, her heart tightened, and she stomped hard on Rong Zhi's foot.
"Ouch." Rong Zhi winced in pain, his brows furrowing slightly as he slowly released his grip.
Sang Yuwan's chest heaved as she looked up, glaring at him with resentment, "Rong Zhi, I'm your sister-in-law."
Rong Zhi's Adam's apple bobbed slightly, his voice a little hoarse as if moistened by moisture, "In name only."
Sang Yuwan gritted her teeth, annoyed, "She's still your sister-in-law."
Rong Zhi curled his lips into a smile, "We've already been intimate..."
Sang Yuwan couldn't stand it anymore and turned away angrily.
Rong Zhi stretched out his long arm and grabbed her wrist, a mysterious smile in his eyes.
Sang Yuwan struggled and shouted angrily, "Let go!"
Rong Zhi did not let go; instead, he forcefully picked her up and carried her straight into the courtyard.
The courtyard, with its three entrances and exits, is ingeniously laid out.
Under the soft light, it resembles a traditional Chinese ink painting.
Sang Yuwan had no time to appreciate the evening; the anger coursing through her veins grew stronger, and she bit her lower lip, leaving a deep tooth mark.
Despite her unparalleled success in the business world, she always felt somewhat helpless when facing this man.
"Rong Zhi, put me down quickly."
"We'll be there soon."
Rong Zhi ignored her protests and continued walking steadily and quickly.
Sang Yuwan grabbed his shirt collar, the purplish veins on the back of his hand bulging. "I'll make you kneel in the ancestral hall as punishment later."
Rong Zhi suddenly stopped in his tracks, a slight smile curving his lips. "Which ancestral hall are you kneeling in?"
Sang Yuwan paused for a moment, her gaze tightening. "Of course, it's the Bo family."
“I don’t have the surname Bo.” Rong Zhi’s voice was deep and magnetic in the night.
Sang Yuwan's heart sank. "Bo Yuheng said that once you've passed the incense offerings in the ancestral hall, you're a member of the Bo family."
Rong Zhi stepped over a high threshold and gently set her down. "You believe his words?"
Sang Yuwan felt the area where he had touched her warmer, and frowned. "If you weren't a member of the Bo family, would he have supported you that day?"
Rong Zhi pulled her wrist and led her inside.
Sang Yuwan was startled again. "Let go."
"I won't let go." Rong Zhi was as stubborn as a child.
Sang Yuwei's eyes were practically spitting fire. "What exactly do you want?"
Rong Zhi said, "I've answered this question to you many times already."
Sang Yuwan's heart pounded, her fingers curling into her palms. Anger accentuated the sharp, angular features of her face.
She shook off his hand forcefully, breaking free.
"Rong Zhi, why do you insist that I have a child for you?"
"I've already explained that."
Rong Zhi stood in front of her, backlit, his facial features shadowed deeply.
Sang Yuwan's chest heaved, and she let out a cold laugh, "Rong Zhi, is your child safe?"
Rong Zhi's lips curled up slightly. "Yes."
Sang Yuwan took a step back, took two deep breaths, and smiled desolately.
"Bo Xinglan said she's pregnant with my second brother's child. You told her to get a prenatal paternity test. What if Bo Yuheng and Bo Hanshan, like you, force me to get a test? Will the child still be safe then?"
Rong Zhi looked at her, his eyes calm and composed. "There's no 'what if'."
Sang Yuwan's eyes reddened slightly. "If we can question her, others can question me. They already had doubts about that pregnancy test report. If they knew this child was yours, not to mention them, Ning Wanzhen would be the first to kill me."
Rong Zhi's eyes were dark as he said calmly, "Don't worry, that day will never come."
Sang Yuwan looked at him, her gaze darkening slightly. "Could it be that you're in cahoots with them?"
Rong Zhi frowned slightly. "If I were with them, you would have gone to see my elder brother long ago."
The sun sets late in life.
Rong Zhi pulled out a chair for her to sit down. "Are you hungry? Let's eat first."
Sang Yuwan had no appetite at all; her back was taut, and she clenched her teeth.
Rong Zhi sat down next to her, raising an eyebrow. "The Bo family rules dictate that one should not speak while eating or sleeping. Let's finish eating first."
Sang Yuwan didn't even look at what dishes were on the table. She turned her head and stared at Rong Zhi, saying, "Finish what you have to say before you eat."
Rong Zhi took a white porcelain bowl from in front of her and, while ladling soup, replied, "I've used up too much energy today, I'm really hungry."
Ambiguous words stir the heartstrings, yet also leave one confused and uneasy.
Sang Yuwan's breath hitched, and she looked away.
Under the warm light, a pair of small earlobes were so red they looked like they were dripping blood.
Rong Zhi ladled out a small bowl of soup for her and gently placed it in front of her, saying, "Be careful, it's hot."
Sang Yuwan scoffed, "Second Master is so good at taking care of women, he must have been with many women to be so experienced."
Rong Zhi said seriously, without a trace of a joke in his eyes, "I have only ever had one woman."
He paused briefly, then continued.
"This person is..."
Sang Yuwan's heart raced, and she interrupted urgently, "Let's eat."
Rong Zhi smiled and said nothing more.
She never took his words to heart, nor did she believe them.
Sang Yuwan's mind was in complete turmoil, her thoughts a jumbled mess.
She didn't believe him.
Learn from past mistakes.
Bo Xingzhi, that scumbag, treated her the same way before, except there was no intimate contact.
Rong Zhi is even worse than him.
They had never crossed paths in the past 26 years.
She simply couldn't believe that something like "love at first sight" could happen to the two of them.
His advances towards her must be a conspiracy.
As for the children...
The steam from the chicken soup brushed past Sang Yuwan's nostrils, filling her lungs with its aroma, but her stomach reacted. She tried to suppress it, but it was too late, and she let out a sound.
"vomit……"
