Ning Wanzhen's breath hitched, and she turned to look. Then, her brows furrowed involuntarily.

"Sister-in-law." Bo Yuheng walked up to her, his attitude very respectful.

A hint of disgust flashed in Ning Wanzhen's eyes, and she asked coldly, "Why are you here?"

Bo Yuheng's expression remained unchanged. "I've come to see Rong Zhi."

Ning Wanzhen felt a surge of anger when she recalled the day he supported Rong Zhi's ascension to the throne. She retorted sarcastically, "You two seem to be getting quite close."

Bo Yuheng narrowed his eyes, his smile cunning. "No matter how close he is, he can't be closer than your sister-in-law. He is your son."

One sentence triggered Ning Wanzhen's sensitive nerves, and the flames of anger burned in her veins, turning her face purplish-red.

Bo Yuheng twirled the prayer beads in his hand, his tone calm, "Sister-in-law, it was indeed wrong of Rong Zhi to refuse you entry. I'll go in and teach him a lesson for you."

The closeness or distance between people is immediately apparent.

Ning Wanzhen's neck turned red with anger. She turned around and snapped at the man in black, "Get out of the way."

The man in black glanced at Bo Yuheng, hesitated for a few seconds, and then moved away.

Seeing this, Ning Wanzhen became even angrier, her blood boiled, and she pushed open the door to the ward.

"Ah!" came the panicked female voice.

Ning Wanzhen was startled and looked over. Instantly, her pupils contracted, and her heart pounded wildly.

On the hospital bed, a man and a woman are engaging in unspeakable acts.

"Get out." The man pulled the blanket over the woman, wrapped her up, and turned his back to the ward door.

Ning Wanzhen's head throbbed, and she was completely stunned.

Bo Yuheng approached and, upon seeing this scene, a flicker of surprise crossed his eyes. He quickly regained his composure and jokingly remarked, "Young people are indeed full of youthful vigor."

"Second Master..." The woman's delicate voice trembled, as if she were terrified of being caught in adultery.

The man on the hospital bed gently comforted her, "Amei, don't be afraid."

Ning Wanzhen stared in disbelief, her eyes wide open.

Bo Yuheng's gaze fell on the hospital bed, his eyes flashing with a calculating glint. "Sister-in-law, it seems Rong Zhi is recovering well. You can rest assured."

The last sentence is quite meaningful.

Ning Wanzhen gasped for breath, the lingering doubt in her mind not completely dissipated, her temples throbbing. She took two deep breaths and stepped towards the hospital bed.

Bo Yuheng quickly stopped her, "Sister-in-law, let's not disturb the young people's fun."

Ning Wanzhen grew increasingly suspicious. Gritting her teeth, she rushed to the bedside and made as if to pull back the blanket.

"Second Master..." the woman said in a charming and gentle voice, which was heartbreaking.

The man's large hand cupped the back of her head, pulling her into his embrace. He looked up at Ning Wanzhen.

Deep, narrow eyes, radiating icy coldness.

"Mother, what are you doing?"

He questioned in a low voice, his voice tinged with overwhelming anger.

Ning Wanzhen's face paled, and she pointed at the woman in his arms, asking, "Rong Zhi, who is she?"

Rong Zhi slightly curled the corners of his lips, his eyes icy cold. "Who does Mother think it is?"

A fleeting, almost imperceptible ruthlessness flashed in Bo Yuheng's eyes. He strode up to Ning Wanzhen and said with a faint smile, "Who it is is not important..."

"Shut up!" Ning Wanzhen's face turned pale as she snapped.

Bo Yuheng wasn't angry; a cunning glint in his eyes was hidden in the slight upturn of his lips. "Sister-in-law, I know you're worried about Rong Zhi, but he's always been a sensible child. He knows very well what he should and shouldn't do."

Ning Wanzhen frowned, her teeth grinding together.

Bo Yuheng's every word was in defense of Rong Zhi, which made her even more certain that they were on the same side.

She stared at the woman in Rong Zhi's arms, her eyes like knives. "I'm going to find out who she really is today."

Bo Yuheng tried to stop her again, saying, "Sister-in-law, the young girl is easily embarrassed. I think we should let it go."

Ning Wanzhen's emotions completely exploded, her face slightly distorted. She grabbed the blanket and tried to pull it up.

"Second Master..." The woman under the covers began to sob.

Rong Zhi pursed his lips, silently tightened the blanket, and a cold smile curled at the corner of his mouth. It was chilling, sending shivers down one's spine.

"Mother, does it have to be so embarrassing?"

Bo Yuheng chimed in, “Sister-in-law, it’s normal for them to act a little excessively since neither of them is married.”

Ning Wanzhen almost bit her lip until it bled, her eyes wide open, "Who knows if she's ever been married?"

Bo Yuheng was shocked, "Rong Zhi, you...she..."

Rong Zhi's gaze darkened as he stared at them, a cool smile playing on his lips. "Second Uncle, please leave."

Bo Yuheng smiled and said, "Okay."

He went out and considerately closed the ward door behind him.

Rong Zhi glared at Ning Wanzhen, his eyes surging with turmoil, his brows sharp as knives. "Mother really wants to know who she is?"

Ning Wanzhen's heart felt like it was being rolled by cold beads, hard and painful.

Even though she already knew the answer, she still wasn't entirely sure.

"Second Master..."

The woman in Rong Zhi's arms suddenly poked her head out, her pretty face flushed red.

Ning Wanzhen paused, then let out a short, spasmodic breath. "You're Mingmei?"

The woman said shyly, "Madam, I'm sorry. I couldn't control myself and let the Second Master do as he pleased."

Rong Zhi sneered, "Mother, can we leave now?"

Ning Wanzhen's face was extremely ugly, and her lips trembled. "You'd better watch yourself."

Rong Zhi's expression tightened. "I don't want this to happen again."

The tense atmosphere seemed to solidify into an invisible tension, permeating every corner.

It was so quiet all around that you could only hear your own heartbeat.

Ning Wanzhen's face turned as black as the bottom of a pot as she turned away in anger.

Bang--

The crisp sound of jade shattering pierced the stagnant air.

Ning Wanzhen's heart skipped a beat, and she turned around abruptly.

On the floor in front of the hospital bed, a jade hairpin was broken into three pieces.

"Second Master, this..." the woman said, her voice filled with fear and unease.

Rong Zhi comforted him in a low voice, "The things your elder brother gave you should have been thrown away a long time ago."

The woman bit her lip, her eyes filled with tears.

Ning Wanzhen felt as if her heart was being pierced by needles, an unspeakable pain stuck in her chest. After a moment, she managed to utter a few words.

"Rong Zhi, you really are a libertine."

Rong Zhi said coldly, "Does Mother think she's dirty because she was with my eldest brother?"

The woman's pupils contracted, overwhelmed with shame and indignation, her eyes reddening. She choked back tears, "Second Master, my relationship with Master Bo was a long time ago."

Ning Wanzhen chuckled and turned to leave.

Thud—

The ward doors slammed shut, and Rong Zhi immediately threw off the covers, jumped out of bed, and tossed a card to the woman from above.

"Miss Ming, your acting is quite good."

Mingmei sat up, still wrapped in the blanket, the mist in her eyes instantly dissipating. She raised an eyebrow and laughed freely.

"It's a pity that Second Master didn't enter the entertainment industry."

Rong Zhi tossed the clothes from the sofa in front of her, turned to the side, half his face hidden in shadow. His eyes were dark and dangerous.

"Get out of here within ten minutes."

Mingmei watched him walk towards the restroom, her eyebrows raised and a mocking smile appearing on her lips.

-

Ning Wanzhen returned to the car, pressed her temples, and felt much better.

I am absolutely certain that the woman Rong Zhi is holding in the photo is Mingmei.

She felt somewhat sorry for Sang Yuwan. At the same time, she realized that after this incident, the relationship between the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law would probably never be the same again.

On second thought.

Consider this a warning to Sang Yuwan.

She and Rong Zhi must never cross the line.
