Chapter 18 Is she a lecher?

The mission back home is twofold: to purchase supplies and to contact people to inspect them.

Jiang Yutang glanced at the wall clock, stretched, and went to take a shower.

After walking for two days, even though it wasn't the same body, I still felt sticky all over.

She walked out of the bathroom barefoot, drying her hair with a towel. Water droplets dripped from her hair onto her phone, which she then casually wiped away with her thumb.

The phone was answered after only two rings, and a polite voice feigning familiarity came through.

"Miss Jiang, is there any new stock available so late in the day?"

"Yes, I have an inkstone that is very well preserved. Let's arrange a place to meet."

Jiang Yutang opened the bundle, revealing a corner of the inkstone. She gently stroked it with her fingers, then deftly put it into her backpack. Her hair, which hadn't been dried yet, was still wet when she hurriedly left.

When she arrived at the entrance of the residential complex where the other party lived, she was stopped by the security guard. After learning that she was looking for someone, the guard called the resident to inquire. Only after receiving confirmation did she get into the patrol car and be taken to the villa.

Sitting in the patrol car, Jiang Yutang's body tensed up, thinking to herself that even the heavily guarded imperial palace was no more than this.

It's really hard to imagine the lives of the rich.

The door opened from the inside, and the bespectacled man, with a slight smile, warmly invited her to come in and sit down.

"Miss Jiang, would you like coffee or tea? A friend gave me a cake of Tieguanyin tea the other day, would you like to try some?"

Jiang Yutang quickly waved her hand to refuse: "No need, I have something to do tonight, you can take a look at the things first."

The bespectacled man saw her take something out of her bag, wrapped in a television cover made of a panda eating bamboo, and then hand it to him.

"I became interested when you said it was an inkstone, and it just so happens that a friend of mine is having a birthday soon." The bespectacled man pushed up his glasses, gesturing for her to put it on the table.

The crystal chandelier in the villa swayed so brightly it was dazzling. The bespectacled man calmly put on gloves and carefully placed the inkstone above his head to examine it closely.

After a moment, he put it down with satisfaction: "The item is good, one hundred yuan, fixed price."

Jiang Yutang blinked blankly for a moment, then realized it was one million, and immediately nodded frantically: "You're the expert, I'll listen to you!" She eagerly took the check.

The bank had already closed, so she went to the pharmacy to buy medicine. She bought all the medicines she could think of. Before leaving, she suddenly remembered Zhu Shi and went back to buy some nutritional supplements, as the pregnant woman's nutrition had to be guaranteed as much as possible.

Seeing that she had bought so many pregnancy-supporting medications, the shop assistant smiled and tried to sell her other nutritional supplements.

"Our pharmacy is having a new promotion recently, and these items are all 40% off, but medical insurance cannot be used. Please see if there's anything else you need."

Jiang Yutang was about to refuse when her gaze fell on the white box.

—Wuji Baifeng Wan (Black Chicken White Phoenix Pills).

Cheng Lanzhou's gloomy face flashed unconsciously through his mind, and a wicked idea arose in his heart.

She picked up two boxes and placed them on the cashier's counter: "And this too."

Looking at the pile of instant food in front of him in the supermarket, Jiang Yutang hesitated to make a choice. Instant noodles were convenient to carry, but they required water, and he would have to borrow a pot and bowl from the constables every time, which might arouse suspicion if he did it too often.

But the self-heating hot pot was too heavy. Even if she transformed into an old ox to carry it over, the ten family members would finish it all in one meal.

Just as she was struggling with her decision, she saw a pot that was being promoted nearby.

—Buy a pot and get ten servings of hot pot base free.

She stood there, chin in hand, head tilted to the side, deep in thought.

The Jiang family has a handcart, which Jiang Shengan no longer needs, so he uses it to pull some clothes. It's also fine to hide pots and ingredients on it. If we buy steel bowls, it will be much easier.

The biggest obstacle was the yamen runners, but there was a way to deal with them; those who put on airs were the easiest to bribe.

Thinking that they were quite satisfied with the pork jerky, she turned and walked towards the snack section, bought beef jerky and pork jerky, and then went to the mother and baby section to buy baby bottles and formula.

Finally, by dragging and pulling, they managed to bring the two full shopping carts back.

She sat on the ground, panting, and complained, "What a hassle! They've already given me the ability to transmigrate into books, why don't they give me a spatial system or something? Is it because I bought a pirated copy?"

Looking at the goods on the ground, she put the newly bought insoles aside, put a bag of food in one bag, and another bag of pots, pans and chopsticks in another bag.

After packing her things, Jiang Yutang picked up a book and turned the pages. Her fingers stung again, and as she squinted, she couldn't help but think: Could this book be a mosquito spirit in disguise?

The sound of cicadas chirping reached her ears. She quietly sat up and checked the people around her. After making sure they were all asleep, she tiptoed out of bed and crawled into the nearby bushes to find what she had brought with her.

After searching for a while, I finally found the large bag containing the insoles. It was too dark in the woods at this point, so I had to go back to get a tinderbox.

Jiang Yutang slung her bag over her shoulder and turned around to see a dark figure standing behind her, holding a wooden stick. The figure immediately swung it down when she turned around.

The gasp was caught in his throat, his adrenaline was surging, his muscles tensed instantly, and he instinctively dodged the blow.

Who is this person? Is he here to assassinate me? What's his motive?

The dark figure stumbled and raised the wooden stick, attacking her again while cursing, "You lecher!"

"Deng Tu Zi? Why does that voice sound so familiar?"

"Wait a minute!" Jiang Yutang raised her hands above her head, making a gesture of surrender, completely unaware that the other party wouldn't understand.

Another blow came down, but it missed. Both sides were frozen in place.

A gentle breeze rustled through the trees, causing leaves to fall through the gaps in the branches. Moonlight peeked through the trees, casting dappled shadows on the faces of the two men, one angry and the other bewildered.

"It's you!" they both exclaimed in unison.

Cheng Daier breathed a sigh of relief, threw the wooden stick in her hand to her feet, and scolded, "What are you doing here so late at night instead of sleeping!"

Jiang Yutang got angry after being yelled at like that.

"That's what I should be asking you! I just got up to pee, and without saying a word, you hit me twice on the head with a stick. If I hadn't reacted, I would be lying on the ground right now!"

"I..." Cheng Daier was speechless after being refuted, and stammered an explanation, "I also came here to relieve myself. I heard a noise nearby and thought it was someone else, but I didn't expect it to be you."

"Seriously!"

Jiang Yutang slung her bag back over her shoulder and said irritably, "Next time, please be more careful with your actions. I'm the only one in the team who knows medicine."

Cheng Dai'er glanced around awkwardly, her gaze finally settling on the large bag.

"Didn't you come here to pee? Why are you carrying something with you?"

Jiang Yutang paused, then quickly glanced at her: "I just ran into a merchant on his way and bought it from him."

"A merchant?" Cheng Dai'er clearly didn't believe it and kept asking, "At this hour, would anyone be traveling in this remote, desolate place? Are you kidding me?"

The more Jiang Yutang was questioned, the more guilty she became, so she simply acted like the original owner of the body and threw a tantrum.

"You can't see because your eyes are bad. You're asking so many questions because you want them too. In that case, I'll be merciful and give you three portions. You're welcome!"

She pulled three pairs of insoles out of her bag and slapped them into Cheng Daier's arms: "Don't say my family is heartless, these are rare items."

He threw down a sentence and ran off, leaving Cheng Daier standing there belatedly jumping up and down: "Who said you wanted it!"

Enraged, Cheng Daier picked up the object, ready to smash it on the ground. But then she remembered Jiang Yutang's words, "rare item," and paused, taking it back to examine it by the fire.

"insole?"

The next day, Cheng Daier changed the insoles for Lin Shi. After walking around for a couple of days, Lin Shi exclaimed, "These are great! They're softer than the ones we use in our household, and the colors are beautiful too!"

Cheng Lanzhou looked at the insole and asked in confusion, "Where did this come from?"
