Apart from these two changes, everything else is normal. As for the less-than-optimistic yield, this might be related to the previous extreme cold. I don't know yet if the recent temperature rise has caused any changes.

The lieutenant walking beside them said, "I'll have someone call Dr. Chen over and ask him."

Ye Ling stopped her, "No need, I'll check it myself."

Hongyun then asked Yeling, "What is this white vegetable? It doesn't look very appetizing."

Ye Ling looked at the stir-fried cabbage roots and said, "Cabbage roots, at this time of year, the important thing is to eat your fill. Would you like to try a piece?"

"No, it doesn't look appetizing."

Ye Ling glared at him and sent him a telepathic message: "Don't talk nonsense. Many people can't even afford a bite to eat; they're lucky to have this."

Hongyun saw that she had shut up and wasn't saying anything. [Okay, I'll bring them some food later, is that alright?]

Ye Ling nodded slightly. [You have quite a few chickens and rabbits in your space, send some more.]

Hongyun refused, saying, "That won't do. Those chickens were for you. I've also developed other flavors; you can eat them slowly. I can only send them about a hundred, and the rabbits too."

Ye Ling laughed and said, "Alright, a hundred it is."

When he saw the braised pork, he said to Ye Ling, "I want to eat meat. It looks delicious."

After looking at several dishes, all of which were vegetarian, he really wanted to take out roast chicken or roast whole lamb from his spatial storage; the food here was too meager.

Ye Ling gave him a piece of braised pork: "You can only eat one piece. If you like it, I'll have the chef make it for you."

Hongyun didn't say anything, just one piece it was, he wasn't particularly hungry.

Seeing that Lu Hongbing was reluctant to even eat the braised pork, Ye Ling said, "Uncle, have a piece of braised pork too. If you don't have any, I have some."

Lu Hongbing looked at her, carefully considered the meaning behind her words, and smiled, "Okay, then have one."

After they found an empty seat and sat down, he saw that Ye Ling had taken some tomatoes, potatoes, pickled vegetables, and a steamed bun. He asked, "Aren't you hungry, or is there nothing you like to eat?"

Ye Ling chuckled, "I'm not very hungry, just a taste will do."

Ye Ling took out a plate of freshly baked beef buns from her spatial storage and placed it in front of Lu Hongbing. As Lu Hongbing raised an eyebrow, she smiled and said, "They're freshly made, have a taste."

He then took out another plate and handed it to the deputy general: "I'll give you a little extra help."

The lieutenant looked at the large plate of fragrant meat buns and immediately laughed, "Hahaha, this is good stuff, I have to try it."

Ye Ling then asked them, "Would you like some coffee?"

The lieutenant looked at Lu Hongbing: "Want some?"

"Then give me some."

They also have coffee here, but it's a luxury now, and people are drinking less and less of it.

Ye Ling took out a cup of freshly brewed coffee and placed it in front of them, then picked up a steamed bun and began to eat: "How long can the capital's food supply last?"

Lu Hongbing paused for a moment, then said, "At most five years."

Ye Ling pondered for a moment, then asked, "The temperature has risen, can we plant now?"

He frowned and said, "They're conducting experiments. The soil outside can cause plants to mutate, and we don't know if it will also cause wheat and rice to mutate, so they're expediting the experiments these past two days."

Ye Ling nodded: "It's alright, I'll help you."

Then, after seeing Hongyun take a bite of the braised pork, a look of surprise flashed in his eyes, and then he ate the whole piece of braised pork in a few bites.

He looked at Ye Ling with lingering interest: "Can your chef make something better than this?"

Ye Ling chuckled: "This is called braised pork. Anyone who can cook can make it. The head chef here is a top chef, and my chef is also a top chef, so it won't be bad."

Hongyun lowered her voice: "I want to learn. Once I've learned, I'll cook it for you."

Ye Ling refused: "No, eating too much braised pork will make me fat."
