Wen Yanchen also suddenly stopped, his tone grave: "I also noticed it was Lingling. How did she get injured? Weren't they supposed to be by the river? Where are Boxuan and the others?"

Ye Jingyan sensed with his mental power that Ye Tianfei and the others were about to get out of the car, so he quickly said into the walkie-talkie, "Don't move. Sit still."

A nearly out-of-control voice came through the walkie-talkie: "Didn't you see Lingling is injured? She's covered in blood!"

At this moment, Wen Mengxia, Mudi, and Ye Tianfei's anxious voices came from inside the car. They said all at once, "The strange dogs behind them are about to catch up with them. If we don't get out now, they're doomed!"

Ye Jingyan scanned the street again, but it was still empty. His tone was grave: "Calm down, everyone. Did you all see three soldiers and a girl? What did they look like? Where are they right now?"

Ye Tianfei spoke quickly into the walkie-talkie: "Can't you see? Three soldiers, two providing cover, and one carrying Lingling as they run this way quickly."

One of the two providing cover had his abdomen ripped open by sharp claws, and he was bleeding profusely. Behind them were five enormous mutated dogs with human faces, their expressions a mixture of amusement, lewdness, and bloodlust.

Ye Tianfei felt a chill run down his spine when he saw those dog faces chasing humans in the darkness. Anyone who saw them would feel terrified.

Ye Jinyan added, "The gunshots came from them. It looks like they're running low on bullets."

Gunshots? Five strange dogs?

Ye Jingyan was starting to doubt his own hearing and eyesight; he hadn't seen or heard what they were saying.

He looked at Wen Yanchen, his expression grave: "You saw it too, and you heard it too?"

Seeing his reaction, Wen Yanchen became serious as well: "You didn't hear any gunshots, nor did you see three soldiers and Lingling?"

Ye Jingyan shook his head: "This fork in the road is empty, there's nothing there."

Ye Jinyan said into the walkie-talkie, "Big brother, if you hesitate any longer, Lingling and the others will bite you." He then turned to open the door and go downstairs.

Ye Tianfei had already unbuckled his seatbelt and was preparing to get off with Ye Jinyan.

One of the soldiers had already been tackled by the strange dog behind them. The soldier carrying Lingling was almost unable to run anymore, and Lingling was bleeding more and more. They couldn't wait any longer.

"Sit down, everyone."

Ye Jingyan's authoritative voice immediately stunned Ye Jinyan and his brother. Their eldest brother was actually using a tone that was usually reserved for meetings to order them around!

Ye Jingyan finally understood what Lingling had told him before she left; this scene was too bizarre.
