Chapter 415: PUA Her
Li Weichao tentatively asked Lu Ya, "Could you go home and get some money?"
Upon hearing his words, Lu Ya looked up at him in surprise, "Brother Wei, didn't you say your dad was fine? You didn't go home either, so where's the four hundred yuan you took from me?"
"Didn't I rent this place?" Li Wei said irritably. "I paid rent. Did you think you could live here for free?"
"Not a single point left?" Lu Ya looked at him and murmured.
Four hundred yuan, gone in just two days.
That's too extravagant.
"It's gone. I paid for six months' worth."
Li Wei took out a cigarette from his pocket, lit it with a match, and began to puff out smoke. "I'm still a long way from getting paid, and you don't work. We still have to make a living."
He looked at Lu Ya and suggested again, "Xiao Ya, could you go home and get some more money?"
Lu Ya shook her head and said, "I can't go back to my home."
"What do you mean?" Li Wei flicked his cigarette ash, raised his eyes and squinted at him, his tone low and brooding.
"I told you, my mom kicked me out." Lu Ya pulled a piece of paper from her coat pocket, biting her lip as she spoke.
"My mom forced me to write this."
She carefully handed over the letter.
Li Wei took it, glanced at it quickly, looked at Lu Ya in disbelief, and raised his voice, "You really cut ties with your family?"
Lu Ya lowered her head and said in a muffled voice, "Yes." "My mother said that this is what my grandfather and father wanted. If I don't break off with you, they will kick me out of the family and never acknowledge me again."
Upon hearing this, Li Wei looked horrified and incredulous. "You voluntarily gave up your inheritance rights?"
Ria gazed at him with adoration, grabbed his hand, and said with deep affection, "I'd give up anything to be with you."
Li Wei rolled his eyes, shook off her hand, and said speechlessly, "No, you have nothing left, what's the point of me staying with you?"
"Brother Wei, what did you say?" Lu Ya's eyes darkened slightly as she looked at him.
Li Wei's eyes flickered, and he quickly tried to salvage the situation, "What I mean is, you are your parents' daughter, and half of their property belongs to you. Are you stupid? Why would you give it up? Wouldn't you be losing out?"
“But if I don’t give up, they will never let me out to see you. Only by severing ties with the Lu family will I be free and able to be with you forever.”
Lu Ya confessed her feelings.
She gazed at Li Wei with adoration, trying to see the sincerity in his face. "Brother Wei, didn't you say you loved me? Now that we can be together forever, aren't you happy?"
Li Wei touched his nose, coughed lightly, and said, "Xiaoya, I think there are better ways for us to be together, there's no need to be so drastic."
"What does your dad think? If he's not home, he probably doesn't know about this, right?"
Li Wei's eyes darted around, and a brilliant idea struck him. "Right, your dad has never met me either. Here's what you do: call him and tell him you broke up with me. Then, say you want to introduce another male classmate to work at his company, and I can go there under a different name."
He envisioned the future, saying, "When I achieve something in the future, and your dad appreciates me more, then we can be fair. We're still young, there's no need to rush."
His only resource in the city was Lu Ya and the Lu family behind her.
He absolutely cannot give up this resource.
If used properly, he can always achieve his goal.
Lu Ya's expression shifted slightly as she looked at him and asked, "Brother Wei, why are you so insistent on working at my dad's company?"
"The factory wages are too low, I don't want you to suffer with me."
Li Wei looked worried. "I want to give you a better life."
After finishing one cigarette, he lit a second one.
The room was small, and Lu Ya coughed constantly from the smoke.
She fanned herself and reminded him, "Viagra, can you please stop smoking?"
What kind of man doesn't smoke?
Li Wei completely ignored her, finished his second cigarette, and casually threw the cigarette butt on the ground.
He must have choked himself, because he coughed twice and spat on the ground.
Lu Ya frowned as she looked at him.
She complained, displeased, "Brother Wei, how can you spit on the ground like that? This isn't outside."
Li Wei rolled his eyes, unconvinced. "What's wrong? You can't even spit, you can't even smoke? Why are you so picky?"
Lu Ya lowered her head after being yelled at.
Li Wei realized that his tone was a bit harsh, so he quickly patted her head.
"Xiaoya, don't be angry. I didn't mean to blame you."
Lu Ya's expression relaxed, and Li Wei pulled her into his arms, asking again, unwilling to give up, "You really have no money left?"
Lu Ya shook her head. "No."
Li Wei said, "Could you borrow some money from your friend to eat first? I don't have any money either, and we can't both go hungry."
Lu Ya's face was tense, and she said in a muffled voice, "I don't have many friends either."
My old friends have all gone to study in other cities.
Later, she went to a vocational school, where she met new classmates who were not wealthy.
In addition, after starting a relationship with Li Wei, she prioritized her relationship over her friends, and they basically stopped interacting with each other.
Lu Ya explained, "The money I gave you last time was borrowed from my cousin-in-law."
Upon hearing her words, Li Wei looked even more incredulous. "Isn't your family very wealthy? How come you borrowed money last time?"
"Even if I have money, it's not my money."
Lu Ya's words left him speechless.
He lit another cigarette and then suggested, "Let's borrow some more from her for emergencies."
“My cousin’s wife would never lend me money; I’ve already cut ties with my family.”
Lu Ya looked at him and said, "Brother Wei, can you think of a solution?"
Li Wei said in a huff, "I'll think of a way. I'll go to the factory and use my colleagues' meal tickets to eat. You should be fine since you ate lunch. I'll bring you breakfast from the factory when I get off my night shift in the morning."
Lu Ya, "!!!"
Li Wei, smoking a cigarette, spoke to Lu Ya in a domineering manner, "Go to the yard and bring in my work clothes."
Lu Ya stared blankly for a moment and then let out a soft "Ah." Seeing her so slow to react, Li Wei said unhappily, "Go get my clothes."
He complained unhappily, "If this were my house, my mom would have everything ready by the time my dad got up."
"She really is a young lady from the city."
Lu Ya reluctantly went out to the yard to get her clothes and brought them in.
She handed Li Wei the stiff work clothes, saying, "They're frozen, they haven't dried."
Li Wei's face darkened. "Then what am I supposed to wear to work tonight?"
Lu Ya muttered, "It's too cold to dry, it's not my fault."
"That's because you didn't wring the clothes out properly. How could they not freeze if they were all wet? There's still detergent residue on them. Don't you know you should turn clothes inside out to dry after washing them?"
Li Wei's reaction made Lu Ya feel wronged and burst into tears, "I washed your clothes with cold water, and you still blame me."
“I always use the washing machine at home, and the housekeeper does it for me. I don’t have to do it myself.”
Today is the first time she has ever hand-washed clothes in the dead of winter with cold water.
He even complained that it wasn't clean enough.
How can it be her fault that it wasn't dried properly?
