Chapter 160: Ye Tiandong Came
As Ye Tiandong spoke, his gaze fell on Lu Ye, who was standing next to Bai Zhi.
He knew Lu Ye's identity, so he was still quite polite to him. "Since Xiao Lu is here too, then you two can go over together."
Ye Tiandong extended a sincere invitation, and Bai Zhi readily agreed. She glanced at Derentang and said,
"Okay, then let's do it tonight. We still have a lot of work to do during the day, so we might not be able to leave for the time being."
"Okay, I'll come pick you up later. Let's go to a restaurant for dinner first, and then go home."
Bai Zhi pointed to the large Jeep parked by the roadside and smiled, "Uncle, you don't need to pick me up. Lu Ye drove here. Just give us the address."
After she finished speaking, she chuckled again, "Actually, I know the address of your restaurant, but I just haven't had the chance to go there before."
When Ye Tiandong heard that his niece knew the address of his restaurant, a strange look flashed across his face.
He saw Lu Ye's big jeep; he definitely didn't need Lu Ye to pick him up.
He repeated the restaurant address to Bai Zhi again, "Bincheng Restaurant on Fuqiang Road, should you be done by around 5 pm?"
"OK."
"See you this afternoon."
After Ye Tiandong finished speaking, he glanced at his watch and prepared to leave. "Xiao Zhi, I'll go and get back to work now."
"Okay, Uncle, please drive slowly."
Ye Rufeng sat at the examination table, and through the glass window, the scene on the street outside was fully captured in his eyes.
Seeing the familiar yet unfamiliar figure appear at the entrance of Derentang, but not even glancing inside, Ye Rufeng's eyes dimmed considerably.
I feel heavy-hearted and sad.
Zhou Lin dusted off the dust with a feather duster. After Bai Zhi and Lu Ye came in, she asked Bai Zhi curiously, "Sister Bai Zhi, who was that uncle who was talking to you outside just now?"
“That’s my uncle,” Bai Zhi answered Zhou Lin, glancing cautiously at her maternal grandfather.
"Oh, Uncle." Zhou Lin looked at Ye Rufeng. "So that's Grandpa Ye's son? Should I call him Uncle?"
Zhou Lin looked outside and asked curiously, "Why didn't Uncle Ye come in?"
"He's busy."
Bai Zhi was afraid that Zhou Lin would pry into the matter, so she quickly changed the subject, "Linlin, why don't you go and clean all the medicine cabinets first? They might be delivering medicine this afternoon."
After speaking, he reported to Ye Rufeng, "Grandpa, I paged Boss Yang and left him a message, asking him to come to Derentang for a face-to-face meeting. I estimate he will be here soon."
"Um."
Lu Ye placed the bag of snacks he was carrying on the table and said earnestly, "Grandpa, this is for you."
Ye Rufeng glanced at it; at this moment, he had no interest in eating snacks.
But when a younger person bought it for him, he still simply said thank you.
When the cleaning was finished, a man with a receding hairline and a small leather bag tucked under his arm walked in.
As soon as he came in, he laughed heartily, "Oh, Dr. Ye, you're finally back!"
"Mr. Yang, please have a seat."
This person is Yang Baocheng, the medicinal herb supplier for Derentang.
"Please have some water."
Yang Baocheng's gaze fell on Bai Zhi, his eyes full of inquiry. "Is this the disciple you took in?"
He smiled and asked Ye Rufeng.
"No," Ye Rufeng introduced, "This is my granddaughter, she's studying medicine with me."
You have a granddaughter?
After raising this question, Yang Baocheng felt it was inappropriate to pry into other people's private affairs, since they were just business partners.
He smiled and steered the conversation back to the main topic. “I came over as soon as I received your page. You contacted me just in time. I was going to Longshan County to buy autumn medicinal herbs these past few days. If you had come back a few days later, I would have left.”
"Then I'm really lucky."
Ye Rufeng had Bai Zhi bring over the list of medicinal herbs and handed it to Boss Yang.
"Let's send the medicinal herbs according to this list."
Ye Rufeng asked, "Wouldn't it be too rushed to get the medicinal herbs here today?"
Mr. Yang laughed heartily, “No rush. If you need it today, I’ll go back and prepare the goods now, and bring them over in a bit.”
"Okay, thank you for your hard work." Ye Rufeng said with a smile, "The same as always, the price is based on the market, and all the medicinal materials must be top-quality. I will not accept inferior goods."
"clear."
Mr. Yang picked up the list and stood up.
Before leaving, he looked at Bai Zhi again and said with a smile, "Dr. Ye, congratulations! Your granddaughter is clearly a good candidate for studying medicine."
Mr. Yang's words made Ye Rufeng's expression relax.
Needless to say, his granddaughter is a promising medical student, and her medical skills surpass even his own.
"Then I'll go back and prepare the goods."
Mr. Yang was very efficient; in less than three hours, the herbal medicine shop's small truck arrived at the entrance of Derentang.
Mr. Yang brought one of his workers with him to personally deliver the goods.
All the medicinal herbs were moved into Derentang, and the bags were opened for Ye Rufeng to inspect.
Ye Rufeng was very meticulous; he checked all the medicinal herbs after pouring them out.
"Did you fumigate this astragalus with sulfur?" Ye Rufeng grabbed a handful of astragalus and held it to his nose, asking Boss Yang.
"Dr. Ye, nothing can escape your discerning eyes."
Mr. Yang looked troubled. “It’s not that I deliberately wanted to use sulfur. These are last year’s medicinal herbs. They were damaged by insects and couldn’t be stored. I had no choice but to use a little sulfur.”
