Chapter 849 Heartbreaking Conversation

"What do you mean?" Qin Mo was stunned for a moment.

"You already know, so why are you pretending?" Lin Tan said coldly.

Qin Momo's dark eyes stared straight at her.

My mind couldn't keep up with what she was saying.

“As you can hear, I have always maintained contact with Huo Sinian,” Lin Tan began her closing remarks. “He is indeed my fiancé whom I haven’t completely severed ties with.”

Qin Mo frowned, unconvinced: "Lin Tan—"

"To be honest, I once thought of using you to deal with him." Lin Tan's words were sharp. "He is too possessive, which sometimes makes me feel very restricted and uncomfortable."

"I can help you..." Qin Mo hadn't finished speaking.

Lin Tan then uttered even harsher words: "What are you going to use to help?"

Qin Mo pursed his thin lips.

Lin Tan looked at him: "Use your identity as President Qin or your position as the head of the Qin family?"

You can't do it.

"You have too many responsibilities and too much to bear."

"Did my mother force you to say this to me?" Qin Mo suddenly spoke, his dark eyes staring straight at her. "Does she know that I got into a car accident because of you, and she's blaming you for it?"

Lin Tan felt as if she had been pricked by a needle.

It hurts a little.

But we had no choice but to endure it.

"Don't listen to her." Qin Mo sat up in bed, his voice calm and steady. "No matter what threats she uses against you, I can handle it."

Lin Tan chuckled softly.

Qin Mo felt uneasy seeing her like this.

I have a feeling that something changed during the time he was in a coma.

"Solve?" Lin Tan repeated, then continued, "Speaking of which, I'm really curious what you can solve? You haven't resolved your relationship with your mother or gotten rid of Huo Sinian in all this time. Tell me, what can you solve?"

As these words were spoken, Lin Tan felt as if a knife was stabbing her heart repeatedly.

The pain was excruciating.

She could only say sorry to herself over and over again.

She knew better than anyone that Qin Mo had helped her a lot.

He helped her with her job, her place to live, her confidence, and even her current freedom.

"Is it my mother, or Huo Sinian?" Qin Mo asked.

Lin Tan suppressed her emotions: "What?"

"Was it my mother who forced you to break up with me, or was it Huo Sinian who made you cut off contact with me?" Qin Mo said. "I know you. You wouldn't say such a thing unless someone was coercing you."

"Do you know me well?" Lin Tan asked.

Qin Mo: "I wouldn't say I'm very close, but I know your basic personality traits."

Lin Tan: "Really? Then tell me what it's like?"

Qin Mo: "Kind, with a clear sense of right and wrong, with her own values, she will not hurt those who are good to her. If she does hurt them, it will be like stabbing herself even deeper."

If Qin Mo's trust had previously made Lin Tan's nose tingle, then...

These words have almost shattered her psychological defenses.

For a fleeting moment.

A thought flashed through her mind: either they should stay together, or she should tell him everything. But she also knew very well that if she told him, he would never let her go for the rest of his life.

Huo Sinian's deliberate attempts to make things difficult for him will put him in a dangerous situation.

Huo Sinian was despicable and would stop at nothing to achieve his goals.

But Qin Mo is not like that. He has his own bottom line and principles. She doesn't want him to become another Huo Sinian for her sake, and she doesn't want him to have any accidents or mishaps.

"I don't know what happened, or what you're going through right now," Qin Mo said, his eyes still firm. "But I can tell you that no matter what happens, I will stand by your side and face it with you."

“But I don’t want to waste my time with you anymore,” Lin Tan said. “And I’m too lazy to put on this long-awaited reunion act with you anymore.”

Qin Mo frowned slightly.

Lin Tan said something very unpleasant: "To tell you the truth, I've been observing you ever since you first approached me. After seeing that you really still liked me, I started planning to use you to help me escape from Huo Sinian."

Qin Mo followed her words: "We can use it now."

Lin Tan: "There's no need."

Lin Tan: "You are no longer of any use to me."

"Why?" Qin Mo asked, puzzled.

“Because you’re more troublesome than Huo Sinian.” Lin Tan’s tone remained calm. “Being with Huo Sinian at most means having your freedom restricted, but being with you means you’re constantly being bothered by your family.”

"Besides, Huo Sinian is more generous than you. He buys me things and lets me swipe his card," Lin Tan continued, repeating the things those scumbag women said. "But you, you can't even pay rent."

Qin Mo opened his mouth.

I was trying to say he didn't want to accept it, but the fact is he did.

"Most importantly, you already know everything, so I'm too lazy to pretend anymore, too lazy to make excuses that I have nothing to do with Huo Sinian." Lin Tan added, "I'll leave your key and the gift in the living room, and we'll be even from now on."

He left after saying that.

It was as if Qin Mo was truly someone she found very annoying.

Even after the door closed, Qin Mo was still not recovered from the conversation.

Reason told him that Lin Tan really didn't want to continue spending time with him. The way she looked at him just now was full of indifference and dislike, but she was incredibly gentle when she spoke to Huo Sinian.

But emotionally, she would deceive herself, thinking that this was not her true intention.

How could someone as good as her take advantage of his feelings? How could she be two-timing him?

He wanted to ask something more, but Lin Tan had already disappeared.

He pulled out the IV needle from his hand, got out of bed, grabbed his coat from the side, put it on, and headed towards the door. He had only taken two steps when he bumped into Qin Luofeng, who was coming towards the ward.

"Brother?" Qin Luofeng looked surprised. "Why are you up?"

"Have you seen Lin Tan?" Qin Mo asked, enduring his physical discomfort.

"It seems he went downstairs and left..." Before Qin Luofeng could finish speaking, he saw Qin Mo walking outside. Without thinking, he grabbed him and said, "What are you doing? You're still injured. The doctor said you need to rest."

Qin Mo: "I'm going to find her."

He still has many questions to ask.

He needs to figure out if she genuinely dislikes him or is forced to say those things.

"You can't catch up now," Qin Luofeng advised him. "Go lie down first and wait until your injuries heal."

Qin Mo paused.

Only then did he realize that Qin Luofeng's appearance was too coincidental.

What are you doing here?

"The hospital called me and said you were in a car accident." Qin Luofeng said as he led him back to sit down. "Not only me, but Mom came too, but she left after hearing that you were out of danger."

Qin Mo's dark eyes suddenly turned cold: "Mom came?"

Qin Luofeng: "Mm."

Qin Mo: "Has she met with Lin Tan?"

Qin Luofeng nodded: "We bumped into each other, but didn't say much."

Qin Mo took the phone and called Yu Peiyun.

Because of his previous dislike for her and the precedent of her forcing Lin Tan to break up with him years ago, Qin Mo immediately assumed that Lin Tan was forced to say those things by his mother.

He knew more or less about his mother's methods.

It's not impossible that he might try to suppress or threaten her into breaking up with him.

"What's wrong?" Qin Luofeng looked bewildered, acting very convincingly that he didn't know the answer.

Qin Mo didn't answer him, but just listened silently to the dial tone.
