Chapter 610 No Regrets

Jiang An took it and went to the study with her.

After watching her finish reading all the written materials, Jiang Ruan asked her question: "Do you know that Qin Muchuan and his group are secretly monitoring you?"

"I don't know," Jiang An said truthfully. She never thought they would have such energy. She was already married and had children in Jingzhou, yet they were still keeping an eye on things. "But after learning that my situation wasn't an accident, I started to have a guess."

When she first arrived in Jingzhou, she knew that Qin Muchuan and his group were definitely watching her.

But she didn't care, knowing they were worried she would leave and then turn back to snatch the shares back.

But to her surprise, they were still watching her even after she married Jiang Chenren.

"How did you find out?" Jiang An asked, somewhat surprised.

“I didn’t investigate.” Jiang Ruan said this with a hint of emotion in her eyes.

Jiang An: "?"

Jiang Ruan replied truthfully, "Huo Zhizhou gave it to me."

Jiang An was taken aback.

Somewhat unexpected.

Jiang An: "Are you in contact?"

Jiang Ruan: "Apart from giving me evidence, we haven't had any contact."

Looking at her, Jiang An didn't know how to respond.

She could tell that her daughter hadn't fully recovered from what had happened, and she knew that Huo Zhizhou always held a special place in her heart.

"What do you think?" she asked her.

"What do you mean, what do you think?" Jiang Ruan asked, a little confused.

"Your relationship with him," Jiang An explained more clearly, "What are your plans?"

“I have no plans.” Jiang Ruan sat down next to her, looking at the information on the tablet, and said slowly, “At worst, the two of them will have no contact at all, and their communication will be limited to Sui Sui. Or they can get along better and become friends.”

"Judging from his appearance, he doesn't seem like someone you don't associate with." Jiang An thought of what happened last time.

Jiang Ruan lowered her eyes.

She knew.

But she couldn't accept his passionate pursuit and his desire to be with him.

She was even more afraid that he would use force to make her be with him again; she couldn't escape that kiss last time.

"You don't want to remarry at all?" Jiang An asked simply.

Jiang Ruan shook her head: "I don't want to."

She can make up with him and be friends.

You can raise Sui Sui together with him.

But that's all there is to it.

The cooling-off period for divorce frightened her, filled her with fear and unease. To her, it was a cage, a circle she never wanted to step into again.

"How do you feel about him?" Jiang An asked again. "Do you hate him?"

Jiang Ruan pursed her lips: "The truth?"

Jiang An: "Mm."

Jiang Ruan composed herself: "I don't hate you, I'm just a little disappointed."

She trusted him, loved him, and gave up everything to stay home and become a full-time housewife to raise their daughter, Sui Sui.

But in return, he gave me those heart-wrenching words.

Some of these things may have just been said in anger, but even angry words can be hurtful.

"Are you averse to contacting him?" Jiang An asked again.

“He doesn’t do anything reckless, and he’s not opposed to normal interactions.” Jiang Ruan didn’t hide her true thoughts from her mother, “But it’s too difficult to get him to interact normally.”

"He's a bit crazier than the others," Jiang An offered a fair assessment. Beneath his seemingly stable exterior lies a more obsessive heart.

Jiang Ruan said, "I only have one problem to worry about right now."

Jiang An: "What?"

Jiang Ruan: "Will Sui Sui blame me in the future?"

"Don't worry about that, he hasn't thought about any of that at all." Jiang An gave her a positive answer. "Right now, all he thinks about is learning and growing up. He wishes he were already ten years old."

Jiang Ruan was taken aback: "Why?"

Jiang An smiled slightly: "He wants to protect you from the wind and rain."

Jiang Ruan was taken aback.

“Sui Sui is much more mature than you think. Don’t think of him like other people his age,” Jiang An said. “Occasionally, he might think about you and Huo Zhizhou together, but most of the time he just wants to study.”

Jiang Ruan: "The more he acts like this, the more I feel indebted to him."

Sui Sui is so sensible.

She was so sensible that sometimes she felt she owed him something.

"If he heard you say that, he'd probably wish he were an adult right now." Jiang An had talked to Sui Sui quite a bit and knew his thoughts. "Tell him he loves you the most."

A warm feeling flowed through Jiang Ruan's heart.

“Like you, do you feel like I owe you anything?” Jiang An asked.

Jiang Ruan shook her head: "Of course not."

“But if I struggle a little more here, or soften my stance a bit, you will have a powerful background, an influential father,” Jiang An said. “You won’t experience anything like the cooling-off period for divorce from Huo Zhizhou.”

“But I can’t run into him either,” Jiang Ruan said.

Although she told him she regretted meeting him, she didn't regret it at all.

Whether it was a happy time or a time of grievance, it all happened in the past.

She has no regrets.

The five years she spent with him were at least happy. If she had any regrets, it would only be that she didn't learn more, so that her cooling-off period wouldn't have been so messy.

But at that time, Jiang Ruan felt that her mother was there for her, and Jiang An felt that she could handle everything for her daughter.

But neither of them expected the unexpected event to occur.

If Jiang An hadn't fallen into a coma, Huo Zhizhou's problems could have been easily resolved, but fate played a cruel trick on him.

“If it were really like you said, I probably wouldn’t be doing as well as I am now,” Jiang Ruan said. “You would also be unhappy. Everything now is the best choice.”

“So, your situation is the best option,” Jiang An told him. “Sui Sui won’t feel like you owe him anything.”

Jiang Ruan took a deep breath: "Mmm."

After this matter was discussed...

Jiang Ruan then got down to business: "These things are enough to convict Qin Muchuan, but... can Grandpa accept that?"

"I don't know," Jiang An gave an answer that surprised her.

Jiang Ruan pursed her lips.

Jiang An said, "Your grandfather is indeed angry about this, but I'm not so sure about issues like going to jail and saving face."

She and he hadn't seen each other for many years.

Although he has indeed changed a lot during this time together.

But having one's son in jail is no small matter, especially since he is the head of the Qin family.

She was genuinely unsure.

"Go ask him," Jiang An said directly.

"Is it okay?" Jiang Ruan was most worried about her grandfather's health. "I'm afraid it will upset him."

Jiang An thought for a moment: "Probably not."

After saying that, the two went to find Old Master Qin.

He is currently arguing with Li Zhishen.

Seeing Jiang An and Jiang Ruan arrive, he immediately felt more confident and said, "You've come at the right time. Please help me judge whether my status in this family is higher than his."

Jiang An: "You must be bored."

Old Master Qin: "?"

Jiang An spoke with a sharp tongue: "If some random stranger outside wanted to argue with you, you'd ask us to judge?"

Jiang Ruan consciously tried to keep her presence to herself.

Old Master Qin subconsciously glanced at Li Zhishen, their eyes conveying: An'an doesn't seem to be buying it.

Li Zhishen: I know.

Old Master Qin: You know that, yet you still want to be scolded?

Li Zhishen: This shows that there is still value in being criticized.

Old Master Qin's lips twitched.

What's wrong?
