Chapter 559 Qin Mo is Threatened
"Recently, there have been many rumors circulating in the industry, all saying that the matter is related to your father and the others." Yu Peiyun hesitated, her expression complex.
Qin Mo didn't react much: "Hmm."
“Your brother wants to turn himself in after he found out.” Yu Peiyun sighed, looking troubled. “What kind of situation is this?”
"It was only right that he went." Qin Mo didn't change his tune just because the person in front of him was his mother; his face remained as icy as ever. "My aunt got into trouble because of his orders, as the mastermind behind it all..."
“What mastermind!” Yu Peiyun quickly interrupted, her eyes filled with emotion as she looked at him. “No matter what, he’s still your brother. How can you say such things about him?”
Qin Mo didn't say anything more.
He actually knew very well why she had come.
What he said wasn't too different from what his father said; they both hoped he could stand on their side and handle the matter well.
"Mom knows you care about what happened back then." Yu Peiyun's expression was complicated. "You've always spent less time with us than Luo Feng has. I understand you're upset, but..."
"You're wrong, I'm not emotional." Qin Mo was telling the truth. "I'm very fortunate to have grown up with my grandfather."
Yu Peiyun stared at him.
It was as if they hadn't expected him to say such outrageous things.
“If I had grown up with you guys, I would probably be much like Qin Luofeng,” Qin Mo said bluntly. “We would both be the kind of people who would stop at nothing to achieve our goals.”
"Qin Mo!" Yu Peiyun was angry.
Qin Mo remained unmoved.
Perhaps it was because too much time had passed, or perhaps it was because they received too little love from their parents.
He was actually quite indifferent to them.
"Do you have to talk to your mother like that?" Yu Peiyun suppressed her emotions and continued to appeal to his emotions. "Aren't you afraid of hurting your mother's feelings?"
"I'm sorry," Qin Mo said.
This moment.
Yu Peiyun then realized how unfamiliar her eldest son was to her.
Other people's children either rebel and start arguing, or they argue and try to reason with each other.
Qin Mo didn't even bother to say anything, and simply apologized.
He seemed to really not want to talk to him about these boring things.
"Alright, let's not talk about these unpleasant things anymore." Yu Peiyun suppressed her emotions and continued the previous topic, "I came to you because I wanted you to help Luo Feng think of a solution. He is, after all, your own brother. You can't just stand by and watch him be bullied by Jiang Ruan's family."
"That's the price he should pay," Qin Mo replied, just as he had in front of Qin Muchuan.
“What do you mean by ‘payable price’?” Yu Peiyun said. “Wasn’t he also helping you? Once Qin An and the others come back, your position as president of the Qin Group will be in jeopardy. He’s doing this to protect your status!”
"And you, not only are you ungrateful, but you also side with outsiders to say such things about him."
Qin Mo looked at her with his dark eyes.
Even though she hadn't said anything, Yu Peiyun felt an extremely strong sense of pressure.
“I’m not wrong,” Yu Peiyun said without any confidence.
"You know whether it's for me or for their own sake." Qin Mo's voice was cold and emotionless. "I may no longer be the president of the Qin Group, I'm still Qin Mo, but what about them?"
Yu Peiyun attempted to refute.
And then I found myself at a loss for words.
Luo Feng's abilities are somewhat inferior to Qin Mo's.
Qin Muchuan is even more of a case in point; he's basically been living off his past achievements all these years.
"Can't you help your brother just this once?" Yu Peiyun asked.
"No," Qin Mo replied decisively. "He has to pay the price for his own mistakes."
Yu Peiyun: "Have you thought it through?"
Qin Mo: "Yes."
Yu Peiyun looked at him: "What if I use Lin Tan to threaten you?"
These words were spoken.
Qin Mo paused.
His dark, inky gaze fell upon her, scrutinizing her.
How did she know Lin Tan?
“I know when you two met, and I know you exchanged contact information with her when you left.” Yu Peiyun’s attitude became assertive. “I also know that you still have feelings for her.”
"How did you know?" Qin Mo asked, puzzled.
Almost no one knows about this.
Even Grandpa didn't know.
“Never mind how I know,” Yu Peiyun said, looking at him. “Either you help your brother resolve this matter, or I’ll make sure Lin Tan can never work in the entertainment industry again.”
Qin Mo's eyes were filled with coldness.
He never expected his mother to use this to threaten him for his younger brother's sake.
“If I tell your dad about this, what do you think he’ll do?” Yu Peiyun said. “You can protect her for a while, but can you protect her every moment?”
"Don't forget that your dad hates actors the most."
"She's an actress," Qin Mo corrected.
“It’s not important. What’s important is that if you don’t agree to my proposal, I will tell your dad about her, and I will also tell him that you like her,” Yu Peiyun said.
Qin Mo didn't say anything.
As she said, he could protect Lin Tan most of the time, but that didn't mean he could all the time.
If it really comes to a fight, there are too many loopholes to exploit.
During a break from using the restroom, at the next table while eating, or among the tourists strolling around.
Too many to list.
"Threatening one son for the sake of another." It would be a lie to say Qin Mo wasn't disappointed. "You're such a good mother."
A fleeting look of guilt crossed Yu Peiyun's eyes.
But it disappeared very quickly.
“I just don’t want anything to happen to either of you,” Yu Peiyun said heavily. “If it were you, I would think the same way about you.”
"No need." Qin Mo didn't believe a word of it.
If that were really the case, I wouldn't have threatened him.
Instead, they spoke kindly and politely.
Even if we can't reach an agreement, we won't fall out.
That's what true equality is.
“I understand if you’re angry, and I don’t blame you.” Yu Peiyun took a deep breath, her face showing more emotion. “But I hope you can think this over carefully.”
“I can’t clear his name, the only thing I can do is find him the best lawyer to try and get him a reduced sentence.” Qin Mo made his final concession, “Let him only get a few months in prison.”
"He's your brother." Yu Peiyun was dissatisfied with this answer. "You're so happy to have another stain on his life?"
Qin Mo remained silent.
“I think you’ve been brainwashed by Qin An and her family,” Yu Peiyun said. “You have to handle this matter properly. Either make sure your brother is completely unharmed, or make Qin An and her family stop pursuing this matter.”
"Okay," Qin Mo said.
Yu Peiyun was taken aback.
I didn't expect him to agree so quickly.
“If Luo Feng doesn’t want to go in, then Father will go in.” Qin Mo said emotionlessly. “Anyway, these two were involved in planning this, they are the masterminds.”
Yu Peiyun's expression, which had finally brightened, changed again.
She didn't understand why Qin Mo was so stubborn.
“I don’t know what kind of spell Qin An cast on you. If she were still lying unconscious in the hospital bed, Luo Feng would have to take responsibility,” Yu Peiyun said. “But she’s awake and fine now, so why are you still holding onto your brother!”
