Chapter 413 Chi Qian's Birthday
"Aren't you afraid of hurting my feelings by speaking so directly?" Chi Qian's tone remained the same, with a hint of teasing and joking.
Jiang Ruan replied naturally, "You're using me, aren't you afraid I'll be sad?"
Chi Qian smiled.
Jiang Ruan walked out again: "Location."
Chi Qian: "Hotel."
As Jiang Ruan got into the car, she said, "I'm referring to the detailed address."
Chi Qian sent it to her on the chat app, and continued chatting with her, saying, "When you come, could you please go to a jewelry store and buy me a limited edition necklace, preferably priced at over seven figures?"
Jiang Ruan: "?"
Jiang Ruan unconsciously became familiar with her: "Send money."
“This amount of money should be nothing to Ms. Jiang,” Chi Qian said unhurriedly.
“For Ms. Chi, it’s just a drop in the ocean.” Jiang Ruan sent the address to Tang Bai so he could drive, while continuing her phone call with him, “Cash on delivery.”
Chi Qian: "Stingy."
Jiang Ruan: "Ms. Chi is very generous, she shouldn't mind giving me something worth eight figures."
"Don't even mention eight figures. When you need it, I'll give you something priceless." Chi Qian replied calmly, glancing at the growing crowd downstairs, and continued, "By the way..."
"What?" Jiang Ruan asked.
"You still remember what I told you about using him, right?" Chi Qian's tone unconsciously became more serious.
Jiang Ruan hummed in agreement.
Chi Qian didn't hide anything: "I need you to pretend to be my friend and give me that necklace."
Jiang Ruan paused for a moment, then agreed without hesitation: "Okay."
The fact that there has been no news about her online during this period is all thanks to Chi Qian. Although she was paid to do her job, she did indeed fulfill her responsibilities.
"Aren't you going to ask why?" Chi Qian was genuinely curious this time.
"You'll tell me when you're done using her." Jiang Ruan had a general understanding of her personality. "Give me the room number."
“There is no room number.” Chi Qian was wearing a sapphire blue evening gown with a row of sparkling pearls at the neckline. “It’s in the lobby. I’ll have someone pick you up when you arrive.”
Jiang Ruan paused, realizing something: "A banquet?"
Chi Qian didn't hold back her praise: "Ms. Jiang is truly intelligent!"
Jiang Ruan glanced at her rather professional-looking outfit and, after much consideration, asked, "Do I need to change my clothes?"
Let her pretend to be a friend.
They also bought a necklace worth over a million dollars.
It's most likely a fairly formal banquet.
"No need." Chi Qian had already sensed from the previous time that Jiang Ruan didn't like these kinds of occasions, otherwise she wouldn't have waited so long to tell her. "Just come directly. If you can't stay after I give you the things, I'll find an excuse to send you away."
"Okay." Jiang Ruan didn't insist.
She first bought a necklace as requested by Chi Qian.
Only after everything was ready did Tang Bai drive to the hotel.
When she arrived, there were many luxury cars parked in the parking lot outside the hotel. As soon as Tang Bai parked the car, a hotel staff member came to her and said, "Hello, Miss Jiang, Miss Chi is upstairs. I'll take you there."
Jiang Ruan said "okay".
Following the staff inside, she noticed the birthday cake in the banquet hall and the words "Happy Birthday Chi Qian".
Almost instantly, she knew this was a birthday party prepared for Chi Qian.
"Miss Chi is in the first room on the right on the second floor." The staff member stood in front of the spiral staircase and didn't go any further. "You can just go up directly."
Jiang Ruan said thank you and started walking upstairs.
As soon as I reached the door of the room after walking down the stairs, I heard voices coming from inside.
"You're already twenty-five, it's time to get married."
"Xie Yi is a good kid; we've watched him grow up."
"I'll go talk to them with your dad in a while, what do you think?"
"I have no plans to get married for the time being," Chi Qian's voice came from inside, her tone completely different from when she was on the phone with Jiang Ruan. "Your brother isn't married yet either, is he?"
"Your brother hasn't gotten married because he doesn't have time to manage the company," Chi Qian's mother said earnestly. "You don't need to manage the company, so why are you wasting your time?"
Listen to these.
Jiang Ruan suddenly realized what Chi Qian wanted to use her for.
She raised her hand and knocked on the door: "Knock knock."
The room fell silent instantly.
The door was opened shortly afterward.
A smile flashed across Chi Qian's eyes when she saw her arrive, and she immediately reached out to give her a hug: "You've finally come. I thought you weren't coming."
"I almost missed it." Jiang Ruan hugged her back, playing along with her best friend act. "Here, this is your birthday present."
As Chi Qian took the beautifully packaged box, she asked curiously, "What good stuff is this?"
Jiang Ruan: "Guess."
Chi Qian smiled.
He continued dismantling the machine with his eyes lowered.
"You must be Jiang Ruan." Chi Qian's mother looked at Jiang Ruan and greeted her politely and warmly.
"Hello, Aunt Tao." Jiang Ruan had already learned about all the families in Haicheng, so she naturally knew what Chi Qian's mother's surname was. "I've heard Qianqian say that she has a gentle and elegant mother. Today I finally meet her in person."
"There's no such thing as gentle and elegant; this child is just bragging." Chi Qian's mother had a big smile on her face. "You two chat first; I'll go downstairs to meet Chi Qian's maternal and paternal grandparents."
"Okay." Jiang Ruan smiled slightly.
Not long after.
Only Jiang Ruan and Chi Qian remained in the room.
Looking at Jiang Ruan, who was usually so serious but now so sweet-talking, Chi Qian leaned against the door frame and smiled, "When did I say those things to you? Qianqian, are we that close?"
"Why didn't you tell me it was your birthday?" Jiang Ruan hadn't thought about it at all before she came in.
“I told you it’s your birthday and you have to prepare an evening gown and do your makeup.” Although Chi Qian hadn’t had much contact with her, she knew her fairly well. “I don’t like anyone being prettier than me at my birthday party.”
Jiang Ruan's lips curved into a smile.
How come I never noticed before that this person is such a tsundere?
"Thanks for what you did earlier." Chi Qian hadn't expected Jiang Ruan to say those things to her.
"You deliberately let me overhear your conversation with your mother, didn't you?" Jiang Ruan made a guess based on these events, her eyes seemingly able to see through everything.
Chi Qian tossed her long brown hair, looking incredibly beautiful, yet her words remained unchanged: "This is the first time I've seen someone who has overheard me speak so elegantly and refinedly."
Jiang Ruan: "You'll make no friends if you keep chatting like this."
Chi Qian raised an eyebrow slightly: "Aren't you one?"
Jiang Ruan replied to her in her own words: "Ms. Chi is quite presumptuous."
"Alright, I'm not teasing you anymore." Chi Qian led her into the room and closed the door behind her. "Come in and let's talk."
Jiang Ruan followed her inside.
The room was large, with several rows of new evening gowns in different styles and colors, along with various pieces of jewelry. Chi Qian leaned back on the dressing table and picked up her phone, which was placed next to her: "Give me your account number, and I'll give you the money."
Jiang Ruan: "No need."
Chi Qian: "?"
Jiang Ruan sat down naturally on the sofa, and without realizing it, she had already developed a capable and independent demeanor: "Didn't I say it was a birthday present for you?"
