Chapter 375 Huo Sinian Changes Plan
A hint of surprise flashed in Qin Luofeng's eyes when he saw her, but he quickly greeted her in a natural and generous manner: "Ruan Ruan, what a coincidence, are you having dinner here with your friends?"
"Yes." Jiang Ruan maintained a polite facade with him. "You're discussing a collaboration with Mr. Huo?"
"No, we just happened to run into each other and had a casual meal together," Qin Luofeng explained.
Jiang Ruan didn't ask any further questions.
Throughout their conversation, Huo Sinian's gaze remained fixed on her, his eyes behind his glasses revealing an undisguised scrutiny.
He used to think that Jiang Ruan was just a pretty face kept by Huo Zhizhou, not very useful except for her good looks. But after having this meal with Qin Luofeng, his opinion of her changed drastically.
"Do you have time?" he asked Jiang Ruan.
Qin Luofeng's brow furrowed almost imperceptibly.
Huo Sinian and Jiang Ruan?
Jiang Ruan replied indifferently, "Yes."
Huo Sinian: "Let's chat for five minutes?"
Jiang Ruan: "Okay."
The two of them got into Huo Sinian's car.
Qin Luofeng wanted to say a few more words to Huo Sinian, but the current situation was not suitable for him to stay any longer.
Huo Sinian glanced out the closed car window, then looked at Qin Luofeng before talking to Jiang Ruan: "Do you know what your cousin was talking to me about just now?"
"Cooperate to deal with me." Jiang Ruan's words were blunt.
Huo Sinian: "After being married to Zhizhou for so many years, didn't he teach you not to speak so directly?"
Jiang Ruan: "Why beat around the bush when we already know the truth?"
Huo Sinian's eyes darkened.
Yes.
There's no need to beat around the bush when you know the truth.
Unfortunately, many people like to cover things up with one lie after another.
“I’ve changed my mind about what we discussed before.” Huo Sinian adjusted his glasses, his voice still gentle. “It’s more likely to succeed if I use those things to negotiate with Zhizhou than to negotiate with you.”
Jiang Ruan was taken aback.
I never expected things to change so quickly.
She didn't let Huo Sinian notice anything amiss, and naturally said, "I should have thought of that before."
Huo Sinian: "I apologize for any offense I may have caused this morning."
Jiang Ruan's suspicious gaze fell on him.
What does that mean?
"Want to come along?" Huo Sinian had learned to be direct in front of her. "I'm planning to talk to him now."
Jiang Ruan frowned slightly.
Huo Sinian said slowly and deliberately, "Worried?"
Jiang Ruan composed herself: "You're overthinking it."
"Let's go take a look together." Huo Sinian spoke softly, but his aura was very imposing. "He hurt you and suppressed you for another woman back then. This trip should give you a sense of revenge."
“I have no interest in getting involved in your family’s affairs.” Jiang Ruan opened the car door. “You can go by yourself.”
After saying that, she got out of the car, ignoring Huo Sinian's expression.
Seeing this, the driver asked, "Boss, are we going to the second young master's place?"
Huo Sinian: "Go."
The driver started the car and drove away.
As the car drove further and further away, Jiang Ruan's heart was filled with conflict.
Noticing that she was in a bad mood, Si Ning and Gu Shixi came over: "What did Huo Sinian say to you?"
“He plans to discuss Shan Mu’an’s matter directly with Huo Zhizhou.” Jiang Ruan’s gaze was still fixed on Huo Sinian’s car. As it disappeared around the corner, she suddenly made a decision. “I’ll go first.”
After saying that, she got into her car.
Tang Bai immediately started the car and drove away.
Jiang Ruan made a phone call to Huo Zhizhou.
The other end answered quickly, the voice gentle and deep: "Ruan Ruan."
"Are you busy right now?" Jiang Ruan didn't want him to know about the matter from Huo Sinian. "I have something to talk to you about. Would it be convenient for you to come over for a bit?"
Huo Zhizhou readily agreed: "Wait for me forty minutes."
If someone isn't enthusiastic about seeing their wife, there's something wrong with their thinking.
Jiang Ruan: "There's more."
Huo Zhizhou: "Go ahead."
"Don't answer any calls from Huo Sinian during this time." Jiang Ruan eliminated all possibilities, not wanting him to be too agitated. "Don't read or reply to his messages. We'll talk about everything when we meet."
"Okay," Huo Zhizhou agreed.
Jiang Ruan paused, remaining silent for a while before finally speaking: "Aren't you going to ask why?"
“You must have your reasons for doing this.” Huo Zhizhou knew she wasn’t someone who acted recklessly and trusted her unconditionally. “You’ll see when you get here.”
Jiang Ruan hummed in agreement.
Huo Zhizhou gently comforted her with a few words.
She didn't know how the call ended; her mind was filled with thoughts of how to tell Huo Zhizhou when she saw him later, and how he would react after finding out about this.
"What did the eldest young master of the Huo family just say to you?" Tang Bai noticed her unusual expression when he looked in the rearview mirror; she had never looked like this before.
Jiang Ruan leaned against the car door: "It's nothing."
Tang Bai and Mo Mo in the passenger seat exchanged a glance.
The two knew something was definitely wrong.
But since Jiang Ruan didn't say anything, they, as bodyguards, couldn't ask too many questions.
While she was waiting at home, Huo Sinian's driver had already driven to the manor where Huo Zhizhou was staying. At Huo Zhizhou's instruction, the bodyguards outside did not let him in.
"I need to speak with your CEO, Mr. Huo," Huo Sinian said.
The bodyguard dutifully reported: "The president is not here."
A hint of surprise flashed across Huo Sinian's eyes: "Where did he go?"
"The president's schedule is not something we can interfere with," the bodyguard said sternly. "If you have any urgent matters, you can call him."
Huo Sinian didn't leave immediately. He sat in the car and took out his phone to call Huo Zhizhou.
I was at home an hour ago.
There's no reason why he wouldn't be here when he came over.
Huo Zhizhou received the call almost at Jiang Ruan's place. He neither hung up nor answered, and after setting his phone to silent, he ignored it.
Huo Sinian called twice, but no one answered.
"Should I ask Assistant Jiang where the Second Young Master is?" the secretary in the passenger seat asked.
"No need." Huo Sinian thought about what he saw in the rearview mirror when he left, and Jiang Ruan's undisguised worry. "Let's go to Jiang Ruan's house."
He thought Jiang Ruan really didn't care anymore, but now it seems she was just pretending.
These two people.
It's really hard to part ways.
With this in mind, he sent Huo Zhizhou a message: "I'd like to discuss a deal with you. Do you have time?"
Huo Zhizhou didn't check the messages; he really meant what he said—he wouldn't answer the phone or check messages.
After arriving at Jiang Ruan's house, he led Sui Sui inside. After the mother and son exchanged pleasantries in a joyful hug, he went over and sat down on the sofa in the living room. He said to Sui Sui, "Go play with your Uncle Mo Mo and Uncle Tang Bai. Your mommy and I have something to talk about."
Sui Sui: "Hmph."
Huo Zhizhou rubbed his head: "Go quickly."
I didn't linger for long, leaving them space and time.
Jiang Ruan led Huo Zhizhou upstairs to the study, and only sat down by the window after confirming that the door was closed.
"What happened?" Seeing her so serious, Huo Zhizhou asked, "Did Huo Sinian cause you trouble?"
"It wasn't me," Jiang Ruan said after a moment of silence. "It was you."
Huo Zhizhou raised an eyebrow slightly. Dressed in a long black coat, he looked handsome with a touch of nobility. He seemed puzzled by her words: "What do you mean?"
