Chapter 193 Is it our child?

For the first time, Su Zhu felt like her brain was about to stop working.

Is this person who looks a lot like Ruanruan an old acquaintance of Aunt Jiang?

“Let’s go,” Jiang Ruan said to Su Zhu.

Su Zhu nodded and followed.

As they approached the ward, Li Zhishen caught up with them, his voice rising two decibels: "I'll just say a few words to her, then I'll leave without delay."

Jiang Ruan frowned slightly.

Before he could say no, Jiang An's voice came from inside: "Let him in."

Su Zhu blinked.

She had a feeling that the man deliberately waited a long time before catching up with them, just so he could say those words at the ward door and make Aunt Jiang hear him and call him in.

"Mom." Jiang Ruan entered the ward.

"Aunt Jiang," Su Zhu greeted with a smile.

Jiang An's eyes were filled with tenderness: "Su Su is here."

Su Zhu came to the bedside and asked about her well-being and how she had been since waking up.

Jiang An answered her questions one by one and also inquired about her current life.

When Su Zhu was little, her parents were rarely home, so she often brought Ye Yanzhi to play with Ruan Ruan. Over time, she became quite familiar with these children.

Five minutes had passed since the two finished talking. During that time, Li Zhishen consciously stood five steps away from her hospital bed and watched her. He didn't dare to urge her to talk about those everyday things with Su Zhu, and just waited quietly.

until--

"Which two sentences?" Jiang An asked, looking at him after finishing speaking.

Li Zhishen paused, then, realizing she was speaking to him, asked, "Is Jiang Ruan my child with you?"

Su Zhu: "???"

Su Zhu stared at Jiang Ruan with shocked eyes.

What's going on?!

“She’s just my child.” Jiang An’s words dispelled all his doubts.

“I know it’s her. The month she was born matches that of that child.” Li Zhishen’s eyes were deep, his gaze fixed on her. “You can’t lie to me.”

Jiang An looked at him as if he were mentally challenged.

The next second.

She simply said, "That's all in two sentences."

Li Zhishen frowned slightly: "An'an."

Jiang An: "You can get lost now."

Li Zhishen's gaze was still fixed on her, his eyes filled with a turbulent mix of emotions.

Su Zhu sensed the slightly oppressive atmosphere, coughed lightly, and asked Jiang Ruan in a low voice, "Should I go out first and come back in later?"

Such a big melon.

It's not really appropriate for someone like her, a junior, to know this.

“No need.” It was Jiang An who spoke, and the second half of her sentence was pointed: “The one who should leave is him, not you.”

"Can't we talk to each other a little more amicably?" Li Zhishen hesitated, "If you still hold a grudge about what happened back then, I'll do whatever you want with you, but don't you want your child to have a father to rely on?"

“My legal father is Jiang Chenren,” Jiang Ruan said. “My father in my heart is my mother.”

Although Jiang Chenren was a scoundrel, the only things that truly hurt her were forcing her to drink with others and hiring a driver to try and kill her.

He was targeting her.

He kept the agreement he had made with his mother.

In other words, Jiang Chenren was better than Li Zhishen when it came to his mother's affairs; at least he maintained a good relationship with her before the Jiang Group went bankrupt. This man in front of her, who claimed to be her father, had deeply hurt her mother.

“I have absolutely no connection with you in any way,” Jiang Ruan said coldly. “If there’s nothing else, Mr. Li, please leave.”

Li Zhishen looked at Jiang An.

I want to wait for her to change her mind.

"Ruan Ruan should call a bodyguard." Jiang An didn't even glance at him. "There's no need to waste words on this kind of person."

"Okay." Jiang Ruan took out her phone to make a call.

"No need, I can walk by myself." Li Zhishen suppressed his emotions and glanced at Jiang Ruan and Jiang An. "We'll talk slowly after you feel better."

After saying that, he turned and left without lingering.

The ward was quiet. Su Zhu glanced at Jiang Ruan, and even though she had experienced countless things, she didn't know how to break the atmosphere.

"Your Uncle Jiang knows about Ruan Ruan." Jiang An didn't want Su Zhu to misunderstand, after all, this was his daughter's best friend. "You don't need to be so reserved."

“No wonder he looked a lot like Ruan Ruan when we met last time.” Su Zhu felt a little relieved after hearing her say that. “So they are related by blood.”

Jiang An asked, "They look very alike?"

If you know two people too well, you won't be able to tell they look alike.

Even though she disliked Li Zhishen, the years they spent together had etched his face into her memory, and Jiang Ruan had always stayed by her side.

She had never paid attention to this issue before.

"Very similar, about 70-80% similar." Su Zhu had never met Li Zhishen before, so the moment she saw him, she thought of Jiang Ruan.

Jiang An fell into deep thought.

Jiang Ruan noticed her unusual behavior: "What's wrong?"

Jiang An's gaze fell on her: "Do you want to acknowledge him as your relative?"

Jiang Ruan: "?"

Su Zhu: "?"

"Let's forget about it." Jiang An spoke up before she could answer. "That whole family is crazy. If you're taken back, you'll inevitably be affected by them. For your mental and physical health, don't think about this for now."

"Aunt Xu." Su Zhu hesitated before speaking.

Jiang An: "Hmm?"

Su Zhu: "I have a question that might be impolite."

Jiang An saw through her thoughts at a glance: "Are you saying that if Ruan Ruan is recognized and taken back, people will say she's an illegitimate child?"

"Hmm." Su Zhu wasn't surprised that she could guess. When she used to play with Ruan Ruan, she discovered that Aunt Xu was a very insightful elder who could always see through everything about them with ease.

“Li Zhishen has no wife or children.” Jiang An said this calmly, “No one will gossip when Ruan Ruan is taken back.”

"How did you know?" Jiang Ruan asked curiously. "He told me before that you two hadn't seen each other for over twenty years."

Jiang An: "Your Aunt Xu said so."

A look of understanding flashed in Jiang Ruan's eyes.

Aunt Xu mentioned him.

It's highly likely they'll only criticize; there won't be a single kind word.

They didn't discuss the matter for long; after a few casual words, they accepted it.

On the other hand, after Huo Zhizhou learned that Li Zhishen had sneaked in with Jiang Ruan and Su Zhu, he had people keep an eye on Jiang An's ward. Even after Li Zhishen left, Si Ning was still talking about it.

"Guess if he went in to meet Jiang Ruan as a relative?" Her tone was slightly teasing.

"It's none of my business." Huo Zhizhou didn't care at all.

"How is it none of your business?" Si Ning raised an eyebrow. "If I were Jiang Ruan, I would have acknowledged this cheap father and let him deal with you."

Huo Zhizhou glanced at her sideways.

Si Ning continued, "Although there is a slight disparity between the Li Group and the Huo Group, Li Zhishen has lived for several decades longer than you. If he, as a father, were to go against you, what are your chances of winning?"

It's a 50/50 split.

Huo Zhizhou got the answer almost instantly.

He is absolutely confident of winning in the business world.

But since it concerns Jiang Ruan, no one knows how far he can go.

"Do you still think this has nothing to do with you?" Si Ning has a clear understanding of things.
