Chapter 179 Tell Su Anran to Get Out
“I know you won’t listen to anyone, so I’m not going to try to persuade you.” Si Ning leaned back on the sofa, relaxed and at ease. “I just hope you think about whether you will regret it if Jiang Ruan and Sui Sui leave you and never come back because of this.”
Huo Zhizhou held the bottle with his left hand as he poured wine, without saying a word.
He has too many regrets in his life.
The thing I regretted most had already happened when I was young.
"I'm leaving now." Si Ning clinked her empty drink with theirs and stood up. "I haven't had a proper visit to my master since I got back."
They finished their drinks and left.
No further words.
Gu Shixi desperately tried to wink at her, hoping she would stay.
Si Ning didn't even look at him before lifting her foot and leaving, as carefree as could be.
“Si Ning’s words make sense.” Gu Shixi forced himself to talk, as he had never dared to bring up this matter much. “No one wants to see you like this, including him.”
Huo Zhizhou glanced at him.
Gu Shixi obediently shut up.
Huo Zhizhou looked at the phone, which had been off: "Call her again and tell her I'm unconscious."
Gu Shixi understood immediately: "Okay."
Huo Zhizhou: "Let Lin Bei cooperate with you in acting."
Gu Shixi: "...No problem."
Fearing that things might not go smoothly, Huo Zhizhou picked up his phone again and sent a message to the driver who was escorting Jiang Ruan.
Jiang Ruan had just arrived at Ruanyuan and hadn't even gotten off the bus when she received the call.
"Why don't you come and pick up Huo Er?" Gu Shixi asked, mentioning the purpose, his words trailing off with some difficulty. "He won't go with Lin Bei and keeps saying he wants you to come."
Along with these words came Lin Bei's faint voice: "Miss Jiang is very busy right now, so please come with me."
Gu Shixi: "Do you think you should come over?"
Once Jiang Ruan made up her mind, nothing could change it: "No."
“I wouldn’t have made a second call to you if I hadn’t had to…” Gu Shixi racked his brains for a solution. “You know he’s not someone who gets drunk easily. He wouldn’t have done this if he wasn’t really upset.”
Jiang Ruan remained silent, waiting for him to speak.
Seeing that he had a chance, Gu Shixi said, "Just this once. If he drinks again next time, I promise I'll stop him."
"President Gu, what should we do if the BOSS doesn't want to come with me?" Lin Bei's acting was spot-on.
"I'm making calls to try and figure something out," Gu Shixi replied casually. "Keep an eye on him and don't let him wander around."
Listening to their conversation, Jiang Ruan didn't hesitate to expose them: "Huo Zhizhou is not the kind of person who would drown his sorrows in alcohol."
Gu Shixi and Lin Bei subconsciously looked at someone.
The person didn't speak.
The two knew that Jiang Ruan's words were most likely true.
"If he's really drunk, just leave him there." Jiang Ruan was still angry; how could she possibly go to pick him up? "He'll come back on his own when he's sober, without you telling him to."
Gu Shixi: "..."
Lin Bei: "..."
Jiang Ruan/Miss Jiang is really heartless.
After finishing her sentence, Jiang Ruan hung up the phone and got out of the car without hesitation, ignoring what was happening on the other end.
The driver, who had been instructed by Huo Zhizhou, dared not say a word, for fear that saying too much would arouse Jiang Ruan's suspicion.
"Miss Jiang, these are your things from Fengyue Huating. The boss asked us to sort them and bring them over." As soon as we entered, the butler pointed to the contents of several boxes. "Please check if anything was missing."
Jiang Ruan glanced at it.
They're really in a hurry.
We agreed to go together, but someone brought it back.
"No." She didn't have much on her end; she always carried her important documents with her.
Thinking of this, she suddenly remembered something extremely important.
The day Su Zhu's brakes failed, she stayed at Huo Zhizhou's place. Afraid that Huo Zhizhou would find out about her mother's property transfer document, she put it under her pillow and didn't take it with her when she left.
She walked quickly toward the master bedroom.
Zhang Ma had changed the bed sheets several times, and it was unclear whether the document had been thrown away or was still in Huo Zhizhou's hands.
When she arrived, Zhang Ma was changing and washing the sheets. When she saw her, she handed her a stack of papers: "Miss Jiang, Mr. has kept this information under his pillow for several days. I don't know if he forgot or what, and I don't dare to ask."
Jiang Ruan took it.
It was the property transfer document that her mother had given her.
"I put this here before." She didn't hide it. It seems that Huo Zhizhou didn't check the pillow. Zhang Ma always put things back in their place when she changed the sheets, so no one noticed this thing for the time being.
"That's good," said Zhang Ma.
Jiang Ruan put her things away: "Thank you."
"Miss Jiang...." Zhang Ma immediately changed the words she was about to say; she always slipped up when she changed how she addressed someone after getting used to it.
Jiang Ruan paused for a moment.
After noticing the change in their address, they realized that Huo Zhizhou had asked them to change it.
“Logically speaking, I, as a maid, shouldn’t interfere in your and your husband’s affairs.” Zhang Ma, who was in her forties or fifties, hesitated, her words filled with complex emotions. “But we have all seen the affection between you and your husband, and from the bottom of our hearts, we all hope that you and your husband can grow old together.”
Jiang Ruan didn't explain further: "I know."
Zhang Ma opened her mouth, but didn't say much. After changing the sheets and duvet cover, she left with the ones she had taken off.
Jiang Ruan put the documents in her suitcase. Just as she was about to do something, she suddenly realized that all she could think about now was making money.
I used to love arranging flowers to decorate my home, trying my best to make the house feel subtly different every day.
I have no thoughts about it now.
Thinking about these things, she got up and went to the study.
Her painting tools were moved there, and with no time to do anything else, she had to find some work to do.
The moment I opened the computer software, before I even created a new layer, the administrator appeared: "Miss Jiang, we have a guest visiting outside. Should we let them in?"
Jiang Ruan: "?"
The housekeeper promptly added, "The person who came was Su Anran."
Jiang Ruan: "It has nothing to do with me. Go ask Huo Zhizhou."
"The master said that everything at Soft Garden is up to you." The butler's attitude was extremely polite, with a hint of guidance in his words. "His opinion is subordinate to yours."
Jiang Ruan scoffed inwardly, but said aloud, "Then let her get lost."
Butler: "Okay!"
Jiang Ruan: "?"
Why did he feel like the butler was just waiting for her to say that?
A moment later, Su Anran's sharp voice rang out from outside: "Why won't you let me in? Zhizhou said I'm free to come and go as I please. You have no right to stop me."
"That was in the past, not now," the butler said politely but distantly.
"Make him come out, I'll confront him." Su Anran was furious.
“The master is not home,” the butler replied in a serious tone. “However, if you wish to see the owner of this place, I can ask him if he would be willing to see you.”
"You mean Jiang Ruan?" Su Anran guessed almost instantly.
Butler: "Yes."
Jiang Ruan, who heard everything clearly upstairs, was speechless.
Knowing that Su Anran wouldn't be able to concentrate on painting until this matter was resolved, she simply went downstairs with the housekeeper when he came up to call her again.
When the two met, Su Anran was filled with resentment, while Jiang Ruan seemed much calmer.
"The sir transferred the house to your name some time ago." The butler thoughtfully handed over a tablet. "You have full access to this house, including but not limited to deleting other people's access rights."
