Huo Zhizhou withdrew his gaze from him and looked at Jiang Ruan beside him: "Ask your mother and see who she chooses."

"Mommy~" Sui Sui said sweetly.

"Choose carefully." Huo Zhizhou squeezed her hand, his voice as melodious as a deeply affectionate melody played on the piano.

Jiang Ruan knew he was subtly reminding her of the agreement she had signed earlier. Suppressing the turmoil in her heart, she squatted down and slowly said to Sui Sui, "Mommy and Daddy have something to talk about. How about Sui Sui sleeps alone tonight?"

Sui Sui glared at Huo Zhizhou.

Huo Zhizhou remained calm in response.

"Mommy, you're wrong." Little Sui Sui was quite vengeful at such a young age. "It's not Daddy, it's Uncle Huo."

Jiang Ruan really couldn't understand him: "You talk a good game but you sing a good game."

Su Anran said, "I want you to come and keep me company."

"I'll be there in an hour," Huo Zhizhou said before hanging up the phone.

He put his phone away, squeezed Jiang Ruan's hand, and said without any remorse or apology for his mistake: "I'll go over there. Call me if anything happens in the meantime."

Jiang Ruan pulled her hand back: "If you go, don't come back."

Huo Zhizhou placed his hand on the back of her head and kissed her forehead with his thin lips: "Good girl."

Huo Zhizhou is gone.

They left without looking back.

Watching his retreating figure, Jiang Ruan became increasingly certain that she couldn't continue with him. She couldn't accept that he was called away by Su Anran with just one phone call, and she couldn't accept that he put her and Sui Sui behind him for Su Anran's sake.

She understands the importance of repaying kindness.

He offered Su Anran a lot of money and sent people to take care of her, which she was willing to accept.
