You have no brains.

Liang Huizhi spent the Lunar New Year in Los Angeles, following the timetable used in China.

My colleague and his family also celebrated the New Year together, and I invited them all to my home.

People are still keeping up with the traditional customs and making dumplings.

Xiang Zhixing wasn't in a good mood. He had nothing to say to his colleague's fourteen-year-old son and sat by the pool listening to the child ramble on about playing video games.

This colleague did business with Russia for a period of time, and having gotten used to it, he also developed a fondness for vodka.

At the dinner table, he refused to drink with anyone else, insisting on drinking with Xiang Zhixing.

Xiang Zhixing was extremely depressed. He drank a couple of sips with this familiar uncle, but he had a very low alcohol tolerance and was already dizzy after just one cup.

Later, Liang Huizhi escorted him back to his room. He took out his phone and said to his mother, "Could you please go out for a moment..."

"Okay, I'll go out now."

"I'm going to call Xiaowei..."

Liang Huizhi stopped and asked him who Xiaowei was. He suddenly froze, his vision blurred, and looked at his mother, saying, "I'm not worthy."

Liang Huizhi understood who he was talking about, so she replied, "Okay, Mom understands. I'll go out now. You do your best."

He sat on the floor and nodded emphatically.

The next morning, Mu Qing woke up and cooked for her family. Her daughter, who didn't get up until noon, looked radiant, which puzzled everyone.

When asked what made her so happy, she said, "Shouldn't I be happy on the first day of the new year?"

Mu Qing didn't believe her and ignored her, letting her go.

For the first time ever, Shen Muwei replied to him with the same four words.

He was so scared he almost rolled off the bed.

With a heavy heart, he dared not reply to the next message rashly, or ask her why she had suddenly replied to him again.

As night fell, Liang Huizhi made him a hangover soup to help him sober up, and also asked him how things went after he made the phone call.

Xiang Zhixing asked blankly, "What phone call?"

"You said you were going to call Xiaowei, did you dial the wrong number, or did you even make the call?"

In a panic, I pulled out my phone and saw that the call log was an hour and a half long.

What exactly did he say...? My brain has completely blanked out...

Liang Huizhi asked with concern, "What happened? You didn't really dial the wrong number, did you?"

"I didn't make a mistake. But I don't remember what I said."

“Ah…” Liang Huizhi looked her son up and down. Although she was trying to convince herself to accept reality, she still felt that her son was really useless.

She scratched her chin: "You... never mind, I don't care about you."

Xiang Zhixing tried his best to recall, but the fragments of his memory were scattered, as if covered by a transparent film, with wrinkles making the image even more unclear, and he could see it less and less.

The more he thought about it, the more his head ached. Xiang Zhixing finished the hangover soup in his cup in one gulp, let out a low howl, and felt that he had done something stupid.

He could only hold his breath, walk to the garden outside, and fumble to send a message to Shen Muwei;

I drank too much last night and I think I said some things I shouldn't have. If I offended you, I apologize and hope you won't be angry.

My grandfather's phone has only 128GB of storage, and it was a new phone that Shen Muwei forced him to get by using his own scholarship money. He uses the phone for daily communication, rarely uses shopping apps, and has no other entertainment apps. The only entertainment app he uses is probably chess.

Shen Muwei said that the new phone he got had a great camera, so he could take pictures whenever he wanted.

However, Mu Jinyou had no interest in aesthetics. Even when he saw a beautiful sunset, he wouldn't think of taking a picture with his phone. He would occasionally take a few pictures, but since it wasn't his original interest, he didn't end up taking many.

The video wasn't actually very long, which was a bit of a pity for Shen Muwei, as it only captured Xiang Zhixing saying he liked her three and a half times.

It was because the last 0.5 times was incomplete; he didn't finish speaking, and Grandpa's memory ran out.

The distance across the ocean didn't put Shen Muwei in a good mood when she received his message; she didn't know he had blacked out.

Now that he has said these words, Shen Muwei will subconsciously think that he is in a hurry to deny his confession last night.

In an instant, the daytime enthusiasm cooled down.

She was furious and wanted to punch him, and also wanted to send him the video directly to question him about his intentions.

But she didn't do that. After taking several deep breaths, she realized that being kind to others was being cruel to herself. She realized that everything she had said on his behalf was out of her mind. She made up her mind never to say another word for him again and never to see him again.

Shen Muwei kept her word, but she still couldn't bring herself to block his number; she just would never reply again.

So the second half of the winter break became a one-way output from Xiang Zhixing, without receiving any reply.

This continued until the start of the school year, and he hadn't seen Shen Muwei at all, even after several meetings.

The only time they met was at the outdoor basketball court. Xiang Zhixing still decided to join the school team. It happened to be during a break in training, and he and Chen Jiayu were just playing around.

Shen Muwei walked by wearing headphones, seemingly not seeing him, or so he thought.

But in fact, Shen Muwei saw him from afar. He was a dazzling presence on the court, impossible to ignore, or perhaps...

Forget it, Shen Muwei didn't want to admit that she liked him, lest she make herself look like some kind of simp.

Xiang Zhi was distracted and missed the ball Chen Jiayu threw. He was hit squarely on the forehead and let out a low howl. His eyes narrowed slightly in pain, and he could only see Shen Muwei's resolute departing figure. His forehead didn't hurt much anymore, but now he felt a sharp pain in his heart.

All of this finally reached its climax when he learned that Shen Muwei was about to go to the countryside for an internship.

After saying "Happy New Year," Shen Muwei ignored him completely.

He felt like an abandoned stray dog, wagging his tail every time he saw his owner, wanting to talk to him but afraid that his owner would ignore him.

That day, Shen Muwei went to a small supermarket to buy daily necessities and breakfast for the next day. While she was still picking them out, she saw Xiang Zhixing on the opposite shelf, staring at her intently.

His anger flared even more immediately.

She ignored his presence, grabbed her things, and went with her roommate to the cashier to pay.

After she finished paying, Xiang Zhixing blocked her way as she was leaving.

"We need to talk."

Shen Muwei originally didn't want to pay attention to him, but thinking about how he had deceived her before, she couldn't help but clench her fist and punch him in the stomach.

She said fiercely, "Don't bother me."

Xiang Zhixing found it hard to believe, probably because Shen Muwei had never been so domineering towards him before. The punch was painful, but Shen Muwei controlled her strength, and the abdominal pain soon subsided.

He hurriedly chased after her, eager to figure out what was going on. He had suspected something was wrong; Shen Muwei's attitude had clearly changed on New Year's Eve, and she had even sent him a message. Why then did she stop responding to him after he sent her a message?

At first, he thought that Shen Muwei was probably being kind and didn't want the first day of the new year to be unlucky, so he sent him a "Happy New Year" message. He thought he was just being presumptuous and misunderstood.

He tried to convince himself, but felt that the logic just didn't make sense.

What's going on with this stalemate? If it continues like this, people might run away. We have to find out the truth today.

Shen Muwei was speechless. The old grudges had not been resolved and new hatred had been added. She wished she could beat him up.

Seeing that he was blocking the way, Qian Eryun tugged at Chen Muwei's sleeve: "Why don't you talk to him and make things clear? He's quite stubborn. It'll be fine once you've explained it to him."

Shen Muwei didn't want to cause trouble for others, and this was already causing trouble for others, so she told Qian Eryun to go back first, and she would talk things out with him before leaving.

Qian Eryun looked at the two of them worriedly and said, "Why don't I stay with you? What if he hits you..."

Actually, she was afraid that Shen Muwei would hit Xiang Zhixing. After all, Xiang Zhixing didn't seem like the type to hit Shen Muwei. But Shen Muwei had just punched him, and she was afraid that Shen Muwei might hit him without restraint. She wanted to stay here and watch so she could try to break up the fight.

Shen Muwei clenched her fist: "Don't worry, I'll definitely be the one to hit him."

Qian Eryun nodded. "Isn't it because they're afraid you'll hit them?"

Watching Qian Eryun's figure gradually disappear into the distance, Shen Muwei asked him what was going on, telling him to spit it out.

"What did I say on New Year's Eve? Why did you stop talking to me afterward?"

"You're asking me?" Shen Muwei found it intriguing.

"Of course I'm asking you. If I don't ask you, who else should I ask when I call you?"

"You're the one saying those words, why don't you use your brain? Oh... I forgot, you don't have a brain..."

She thought of the time he got hit by a basketball, no wonder he was acting strangely today, it turns out that getting hit by a basketball really does make your brain go haywire.

"you……"

Thinking of this, the corners of his mouth inexplicably began to turn upwards.

This directly led Shen Muwei to suspect that he had really been knocked stupid, and she frowned, not understanding his behavior at all.

Xiang Zhixing quickly composed himself and patiently explained, "An uncle came to my house that day to celebrate the New Year with me. He pulled me to drink, but I can't hold my liquor, and I got dizzy after only a few drinks. I don't remember calling you, so I don't remember what we talked about."

Ha... Doesn't this prove that he just said it casually?

Shen Muwei curled her lips into a smile: "Then let me tell you what you said that night. You said you wanted to be my dog, so now get out of here."

Xiang Zhixing was slightly stunned. After thinking about it for a moment, he felt that it wasn't impossible.

"Is that all I said? But the call logs show we talked for an hour and a half."

"Yes, that's all you said. Tell me how to raise your dog, what brand of dog food you like to eat, which garden you like to run in, and that Ah Huang on the street is your good friend. You rambled on for over an hour about that."

"..."

Xiang Zhixing: "But that's not right. Why are you angry when I say this? Shouldn't you be happy? You're not happy that I want to be your dog?"

"Is it enough that I don't want you, you piece of trash?"

Her angry look made Xiang Zhixing feel uncomfortable, and he asked again, "Why don't you want me? I'm still... somewhat useful, aren't I?"

"Does it need a reason to say you don't like me? You threw me away because you didn't like me, shouldn't you be happy now?"

Why should I be happy if you don't want me?

Shen Muwei clenched her fists. She really wanted to punch him again. He was so rude, and she couldn't shake him off. He was so annoying.

"Because you're a habitual liar, you're treacherous and cunning, you won't stop until you achieve your goal, you've become addicted to lying to me and want to continue lying, understand?"

Xiang Zhixing felt as if his heart had been struck a heavy blow: "I accept all of this. But I've been wanting to explain to you, but you're very angry, so I haven't dared to tell you."

“I’m angry right now, and you’d better not dare to tell me. Just get out of here.”

"I have to say it, or I'm afraid I'll never have the chance again."

"Then tell me! Why did you do that? What was the reason?"

Xiang Zhixing felt wronged and guilty. He couldn't get angry at her for scolding him, and blurted out, "Because I like you, that's why I tried to get close to you. I'm happy as long as I'm close to you, and I want to keep this happiness for a long time, so I've been lying to you..."

The place where they were talking wasn't a crowded area, and Shen Muwei intentionally lowered her voice, not daring to be too loud, lest it sound like the drama "Autumn in My Heart".

But Xiang Zhixing's words stunned her. So, was his expression of true feelings that night genuine? And then he woke up and couldn't remember it.

She became flustered, touching her hair every now and then and looking around.

"Okay, I'm going now."

Seeing that she was about to leave, Xiang Zhixing became anxious and grabbed her hand: "I said I like you."

She blushed and said, "I said I understand."
