Chapter Seventeen: Opening the Gate of Hell

As soon as these words were spoken, a figure dressed in a black robe stepped out.

The person who came looked to be in her thirties or forties, with a pretty face and many silver ornaments on her body, which made a clattering sound with every step she took.

"What do you want with Awan?"

Jingwu watched as the woman stood before him. Seeing that her aura was clean and untainted by any human life, he curled the corners of his lips into a smile.

"She put a curse on my cousin, and I need to take her back to remove it."

A hint of joy flashed across the woman's face upon hearing this: "Oh, your cousin is the man who fell in love with Awan? If you ask me, since they love each other, it doesn't matter if the love potion isn't broken..."

"It's the Heart-Eating Gu."

Upon hearing this, the woman's joyful expression vanished, and she stared into the eyes of the person in front of her, as if trying to confirm whether what she said was true or false.

Jingwu's eyes were firm as he repeated, "She used the Heart-Eating Gu on my cousin."

Upon hearing this, the woman's heart skipped a beat, and she frowned and pondered for a long time.

Just as Jingwu was about to lose his patience, she spoke.

“She is injured now. Once she recovers, I will have her remove the curse.”

"Auntie!"

Before Jingwu could speak, Yi Wanzhou walked out, leaning against a pillar. She clutched her chest, as the golden light from earlier had seriously injured her.

Seeing that the person who came was a young girl, she didn't pay any attention to her.

"I won't remove the curse. He ruined my plans, why should I remove the curse for him!"

The woman's face hardened, and she immediately scolded, "Wanzhou! Don't talk nonsense. Have you forgotten how your mother died?"

Upon hearing this, Yi Wanzhou fell silent, though her eyes still held a hint of resentment.

Jingwu listened to the conversation between the two, feeling very puzzled. Just as he was about to speak, he sensed a mystical aura coming from the other side.

The next second, Yue Huai landed beside her.

She glanced at him, her eyes filled with doubt, as if asking him why he had come.

Yue Huai did not respond, but saw the woman in front of him nod slightly and greet her: "Madam Miao, it's been a long time."

Miao Yue recognized the visitor as an old acquaintance, her face paling slightly. She nodded in greeting. Then, she turned to Jing Wu and said, "Young lady, don't worry. Once Awan is healed, I will personally take her to remove the curse."

As soon as he finished speaking, he dragged Yi Wanzhou back to the wooden house.

Jingwu had many questions in his mind, but it was clearly not the right time to ask them.

She and Yue Huai walked outside side by side. Since she had already placed a mark on Yi Wanzhou, she could find her no matter where she went, so she wasn't afraid of her escaping.

As the two emerged from the woods, they saw the thick fog once again envelop the cabin.

Jingwu turned to him and asked, "Do you know them?"

Yue Huai nodded and replied, "Miao Yue is from the Miao Kingdom. She came here with her sister Miao Ling more than ten years ago. Miao Ling is Yi Wanzhou's mother. Ten years ago, Yi Wanzhou's father, Yi Yuanze, came to the Xuanmen and said that his illegitimate children had died under mysterious circumstances and asked us to investigate. When we went there, we found that these people all had Gu worms in their bodies, which led us to Miao Ling."

Upon hearing this, a ripple of emotion flickered across Jingwu's face: "And then?"

Yue Huai glanced down at her and saw her staring intently at him. He blushed with embarrassment and said, "Later, when Miao Ling found out that we had found out, she wanted to run away, but seeing the inescapable net formation, she didn't want to be punished, so she committed suicide by poisoning herself."

Upon hearing this, Jingwu paused in his tracks: "Suicide? What about the soul?"

"She also self-destructed." Yue Huai stopped and looked at her, nodding. "Before she died, she entrusted her daughter to her half-sister Miao Yue to raise. But Yi Yuanze was cursed by her and could no longer have children. Her other illegitimate children also died at her hands. She only had this one daughter, so she often asked her to come home to stay. Miao Yue felt that she could not prevent the father and daughter from meeting, so she did not stop them."

"I see." Jing Wu kept her head down, deep in thought, and continued walking forward. The next second, she suddenly remembered something and looked up at him: "How did you get here? I remember the Xuanmen was thousands of miles away, wasn't it?"

"I came here because the Wei family sent someone to invite me. However, after I arrived, I discovered that the Wei family's matter had already been resolved by a girl. I thought about it, and it must be you."

Upon hearing this, Jingwu was about to say something when he suddenly remembered that Wei Anhan was still stuffed into his Qiankun bag.

He immediately took out his Qiankun bag, preparing to send him to the underworld right there and then.

Master Wei acted swiftly, kicking Wei Anchen out of the Wei family that very day and giving him only ten taels of silver. But Wei Anchen had been living a life of luxury for so long that he would probably spend the money in a few days. Moreover, judging from his appearance, he probably wouldn't make it to spring.

Xia Tang hanged herself with a long white silk ribbon on the very day she was sent back to her parents' home.

Wei Anhan's wish has been fulfilled; it's time to send him to the underworld.

Jingwu mobilized all his spiritual power, made hand seals and chanted incantations, summoning the Ghost Gate.

Before long, a vermilion gate, shrouded in ghostly energy, appeared in mid-air.

Although Yue Huai had seen it once before, he was still deeply shocked to see her open the Gate of Hell again.

He stared intently at the girl, memorizing every move she made.

The gate opened, and the Black and White Impermanence emerged.

Upon seeing this, Jingwu immediately released Wei Anhan.

"This person's obsession has been resolved. We request that you two gentlemen send him into the cycle of reincarnation."

After reviewing the person's biography and finding no issues, Bai Wuchang (the White Impermanence) brought the person up.

He wanted to say something more, but seeing Yue Huai beside him, he felt it was inappropriate to talk to someone in front of him, so he turned around and entered the Gate of Hell with Black Impermanence.

Soon, the door closed and disappeared into the air.

Yue Huai couldn't help but ask, "I see that your cultivation level hasn't reached the Nascent Soul stage yet. How did you learn to open the Ghost Gate?"

Seeing his eager-to-learn appearance, Jingwu rolled his eyes and leaned closer, saying, "Your master taught you this. What, didn't your master teach you this?"

Upon hearing this, Yue Huai felt as if he had been stabbed in the knee. Was this something he could learn just by being taught by his master?

"Hey, why don't you come to our Shuangcheng Temple? I'll have my master teach you too."

Jingwu hadn't forgotten to help his master lure this genius away.

Yue Huai's expression stiffened, and he shook his head.

The Yue family is one of the most prominent families in the field of metaphysics, and their ancestors, along with other prominent families, established the Xuanmen (Mystic Sect). As the only exceptionally talented grandson in the Yue family, how could he possibly become a disciple of someone else?

Seeing this, Jingwu shrugged and said, "Well, there's nothing I can do about it then."

After saying that, he walked forward.

Yue Huai watched the girl walk away and immediately followed after her.

She definitely possesses more magical abilities; following her, one might be able to learn something.

Jingwu didn't pay attention to him following behind him and went straight back to the academy.

As soon as she entered the room, she saw Shao Chengrui and Yan Shengming sitting side by side on a chair, neither of them daring to sleep.

Upon hearing the noise, he immediately turned around and saw that she had returned, so he immediately stood up.

"Awu, how is it?"
