They continued to advance through the void, on an endless road with no road signs and no other signs of life.

There was a hazy white dot, the only thing that shone in this endless darkness. It was very, very far away, like the distance between stars, impossible to reach no matter how far one went.

The agents are completely trapped here.

Like a woman taking off her leather coat and throwing it on a chair, Irencel took off her trench coat and threw it on the ground as well.

The clothes, like the shoes, took up the space of a person.

Irenshere thought for a moment, then asked Billis, who was closest to him, "Can you do me a favor?"

"I'll try my best to help."

Suddenly, Irenshere grabbed Billis by the shoulder and knocked him down in a few quick movements.

"Thank you for your help. Are you alright?"

"Hey! You wanna fight? I'd love to!"

"Don't get me wrong, I said I needed your help because I wanted to confirm one thing: where are we right now?"

“Didn’t Mora say that this is his domain? And he has proven to us that this is his domain, where he can change the environment as he pleases.”

“That’s true, but there are three things I don’t understand. First, he changed the environment, so why can’t he change us? Second, assuming this is the void, why are the clothes he threw down at the same height as his feet? This means we are still standing on the ground! Third, if we were to enter Mora’s mind, you shouldn’t feel any pain, and we shouldn’t feel any hunger either.”

Billis was stunned.

As if deliberately wanting Mora to hear, Irencel spoke very loudly, even using sarcastic remarks such as 'His acting is so bad, beyond redemption.'

Billis thought Irencel was just venting, but he didn't expect Mora to actually take the bait.

A net appeared out of nowhere in the void, with moving mouths woven into it, giving it a virtual image feel.

"These are my thoughts! I heard everything you said! You idiot!"

"Oh! Great Lady Mora, you must know what I was thinking just now, right?"

The void trembled slightly, as if an earthquake had occurred.

Mora was stumped.

Irenshere pressed his advantage, saying, "Oh, so you didn't know what I was thinking? In other words, you only heard us talking about you. Let me think about why that is."

"Shut up! You insignificant fool!"

"How insignificant! Oh, thank you for another hint. I finally understand where I am. This is still the old city!"

"You bastard..."

"You said you only have thoughts and no physical body, right? If that's true, why are you hiding? Why are you afraid of the Sky City Project? You're afraid because everyone can find you, so the question is, where exactly is your physical body?"

"Shut up!"

"Lady Mora, whenever you can't figure out what I'm thinking, the void experiences an earthquake, so I'm now quite certain that your true form is the Old City!"

A deafening roar illuminated the entire void, but soon the surroundings dimmed again, and the trembling continued.

Irensell was absolutely right: every intelligent mind is afraid of encountering an even more intelligent mind.

The Old City is Mora, and the ghosts living in the Old City are indeed a collection of ancient resentments, which are actually Mora's memories.

Mora couldn't kill her opponent with void magic, and controlling the reincarnated person's mind to eliminate them was also out of the question. So she came up with another plan: to trap the agents in the old city with White, preventing them from leaving.

If Irenshere's conjecture is basically correct, then there is only one question left.

How can we get out of this damn place?

Lisa's magic could burn down the old city, but if she did, all her companions would perish.

Mia tried to shoot through the dark wall with the Bow of Light and found that no matter which angle she aimed at, the arrow would keep moving forward.

Biris could also summon Mark here, but his Mark, like Mia's arrow, could never escape this godforsaken place.

Irenshere lit a cigarette, took two puffs, and aimed the red cigarette butt at the small white dot directly in front of him, which seemed to be the only impossible way out.

So far, we've tried every method we could think of.

Although it was confirmed that they were still in the Old City, Mora's ability to alter the dimensions of the Old City was clearly a distorted, higher-dimensional space.

Just then, Mark of Beris resonated, one of its iron arms malfunctioned, spewing flames, and a red light lit up inside the golem's belly.

"Hey, what's going on?"

"I don't know, this has never happened before."

Mark was overly sensitive to the distorted void, and his sturdy body trembled. He felt that he was nothing more than a piece of scenery in the void, and that he would fall flat on the ground if someone brushed against him.

It's hard to say exactly what's going on. Is it because of the rejection of the void, or because of the existence of unseen hostility?

Mark suddenly emitted that drawn-out tone, as if it came from a person's throat, which surprised Billy. It seemed to call out a name and then disappeared.

After it disappeared, a seed was left in the void. The seed looked very heavy, and it hoped that everyone would gather around.

Curiosity brought everyone together.

Inside the seed, dazzling white, tiny figures scurried about. Besides the figures, there were constantly changing hills and houses. Then, like a short film, a storm came. As malicious fireballs ravaged the earth, humans struggled, bled, and groaned in a reality more painful than spasms, quickly heading towards death, or even being reduced to ashes before they could feel the pain.

Three drifting wizards tumbled and crashed into the soft screen inside the seed, concluding that the golem was buried by something. Moreover, the number of these tiny wizard particles increased and they became denser, almost bursting the seed.

“This is Mark’s memory!” Billis said. “Mark was excavated from the underground city of the ancient Podrote, so it’s not surprising that it retains memories of the Podrote Empire. Moreover, the name it just shouted, I believe, belongs to some important figure in Podrote.”

Are you sure?

"I can't be sure, but I've spent some time with Mark, and as his stand-in, his thoughts should be aligned with mine."

"You mean, it's going to lead us to a way out?"

"The answer lies in this seed. If I'm not mistaken, this seed is actually the entrance to a portal through time and space."

"What? What door?"

"A portal to a certain historical period. Under normal circumstances, Mark cannot bring everyone through the portal, but this is a special situation."

"I...I don't quite understand. Are you saying your doppelganger can travel to the past?"

"The body cannot travel through time, but the mind can. There may be a necessary connection between Mark's memories and the ghost's memories."

"Then what are we waiting for? Everyone, put your hands up."

The seed immediately swelled, and the void kept pushing everyone forward, with an image of the Podrote Empire flashing by.

The sound from the ground seemed very close: a human running on the road crashed into a carriage and lost his life.

Sitting in the car was a boy who looked timid, dressed in a gorgeous and elegant belted coat and a shawl covered with luxury goods.

He peeked out to see what he had bumped into, only to see a mangled corpse, which terrified him so much that he pulled his head back in.

Another simply dressed boy also leaned out the window, and in stark contrast, he boldly said to the driver, "You don't want to end up like him, do you? Hurry up, the demon army is catching up!"
