Chapter 11 Partners

Two guards, carrying keys, moved back and forth between the archives and the terrace.
The thinner one is the Wood Elf, carrying a rather simple and primitive-looking ebony short bow.
The other was a high elf, with a skin color somewhat similar to that of a dark elf, and a club and a pistol were strapped to his pistol belt.
There should be other guards in the building; two of them had just finished a call on their walkie-talkies and were now leaning lazily against the iron railings, smoking.
A shadow flashed by and was spotted by the wood elf. He quickly drew his bow, nocked an enchanted arrow, and moved slowly along the wall.
It turned out to be a tall, slender female elf of light. She resembled a dancer from a circus, swaying her hips and suggestively licking her tongue at the wood elf.
Seeing this, the wood elf's relaxed lips drooled, and he wished he could immediately cover her with his body.
"I'll be right back," the wood elf said to the high elf.
His posture instantly transformed from that of an agile archer to that of a drunken man, captivated by the other's detached expression.
The wood elf followed her into the toilet and never came out again.
The high elf seemed to hear a noise coming from the toilet and immediately became alert. He took out his stick, waved it in front of his belly, and soon saw the female elf.
Because the building was full of elves, the high elves lowered their guard slightly.
Just like before, the female elf tried to lure the other person away with her red lips.
But the high elves weren't immediately drawn in like the wood elves. He gripped his staff tightly and asked in a tone that still held up, "My beauty, have you seen my brother?"
Seeing that this guy was not so easy to deal with, the female elf took a small step forward, boldly grabbed his collar, pulled him to her chest, and reached out with her other hand to grab the high elf's thick fingers and poke them into her soft stockings.
"Honey, I've seen your little brother before, isn't he right here?"
The high elf suddenly felt dizzy. He threw down his staff, wanting to kill or destroy her. His once-objective eyes now held only a hungry ghost-like soul.
But before he could even enjoy it, a strong, pungent fishy smell wafted from his nostrils, and the earth shook violently. He collapsed to the ground as if his body were filled with lead.
The female elf immediately ran to the terrace and gave Biris, who was clinging to the vines, a wink.
Billy had been waiting there for ages.
“You took five minutes, Mia.”
"But I got the key."
Mia pulled Billies up, used the key to open the archives, and dragged in the two guards who had fallen to the ground.
Billis took off his guard uniform and put it on.
The two men were rummaging through boxes and cabinets in the warehouse.
Mia seized the opportunity to ask Billis, "Do you use your wife's teleportation portal every time you go on a mission?"
"Yes, it's convenient, but it has both advantages and disadvantages. The advantage is that it's fast, but the disadvantage is that it's highly random."
"It can't achieve precise positioning?"
"cannot."
"Can the duration be extended?"
“Each session only lasts twenty minutes, and it takes several days to recover after one use.” Billy looked up at Mia and asked curiously, “Why are you suddenly asking about my wife’s Hell’s Gate?”
It's clear that Mia wasn't just asking casually; her actions and demeanor were driven by a strong sense of purpose.
At that moment, a soft beeping sound came from Mia's chest.
Not wanting Billy to see, she turned her back and took out a very small thing from inside.
She spoke very softly to that thing, and the tone of her voice was different from what she usually heard. Beris noticed it too; Mia had found the druid in the cemetery using this very thing.
But Mia deceived everyone; it wasn't a tracking device at all, but a miniature communicator.
"That thing was given to you by the earth elemental, wasn't it?" Billis asked.
Mia stopped searching, and her pointed ears twitched.
“You contacted him midway through, and he provided you with information about druids. Tell us again.”
Mia didn't want to answer a single question and continued searching for information.
"Hey, we're practically partners, so you don't need to avoid me like this."
Mia threw the stack of documents she had just found at Biris's face.
"Take a look at this."
Billis thought Mia had found evidence, but upon closer inspection, it turned out to be the resume of a real estate tycoon.
This druid is named Byrne. On Earth, he comes from the respected Byrne family, a family that has been a conglomerate for generations and is passionate about supporting charitable causes.
Because Oak Druids need to take root, Byrne was unable to join the Faan Provisional Government after his reincarnation. Frustrated by his inability to showcase his talents, he longed to achieve the same success as he had on Earth, which led him to establish a real estate company.
He used the company to leverage his financial resources and finally gained significant influence over the Hobrick region's economy, but like a greedy plantation owner, he felt it was far from enough.
In the fourth year after the Great Reboot, Bourne's real estate company signed an agreement with the Snow Mountain Dwarves, acquiring the mining rights to the North Shield Mine.
In his fifth year, Byrne joined the Non-Reincarnated Protection Association, further expanding his charitable work.
In his sixth year, Byrne officially became a prominent figure in the French press.
He would do anything that contributed to the cause of light, and he would invest and explore without hesitation, no matter how dangerous the place.
Such a person is truly a hero in public and a great role model.
However, Byrne seemed unwilling to cooperate with the dark races, and he would not associate with the dark elves, even though he knew them very well.
Biris and Mia also discovered that in the past year alone, Byrne's real estate company had occupied most of the cemetery south of Montenegro without any legal permits.
Whether there are any immortal spirits in these occupied cemeteries is impossible to verify.
Besides, even if it is inhabited by undead creatures, it is unknown how they occupied the land.
Mia found paper and pen on the writing desk in front of the closet. On the paper was an unfinished wind matrix.
"Someone here has studied advanced magic."
"They might have been one of Bourne's men, but that doesn't prove that the matrix we saw in the cemetery was drawn by the same person."
"The larger the matrix, the more magic power it contains, and the stronger the damage caused by the spell. Moreover, as far as I know, the strength of a spell is related to the strength of the reincarnated person. Weaker reincarnated people will never be able to learn high-level spells."
"You mean, Bourne himself is very strong?"
"At least it's very big."
The two agents then searched for other evidence.
Billis pried open the locked drawer and poured out a large pile of contracts, one of which was a project agreement with the werewolves of the Valdan region.
Another document is a supplier contract, which stipulates the timely delivery of vampire offerings.
“Take another look at this early contract. It was signed the year after the major reboot.”
"In other words, Bourne would initially do business with the dark races, but the number of times he did so decreased until he eventually gave up on the partnership."
Below the contract is a photo of the partners from back then. It can be seen that, in addition to the werewolf, there was a goblin, a big-eared orc wearing a jacket, and a one-eyed orc wearing a monocle.
Byrne locked the old photo of his partner in a drawer.
On the table were other photos: a petite flower fairy, a forest dancer with two short blades stuck in her back, and a huntress riding a winged horse.
The person in this photo is clearly not a reincarnated person, but a non-reincarnated person.
It seems that in his early years, Byrne wanted to be a true philanthropist, but something changed his mind.
Billy glanced at his pocket watch; only ten minutes remained.
"Mia, let's go, let's go straight to Bourne."
"But our evidence is still insufficient."
"I have a good idea."
"What's a good idea?"
"Get him to talk and make him tell you what he did."
Billis found a voice recorder in the drawer and waved it in front of Mia.
Mia asked, puzzled, "But I think it's harder to get him to talk than to find evidence."
Billis confidently said, "Leave this to me. You just need to play along."
"Do you know where Bourne's office is?"
“It’s simple. Bourne is an oak tree spirit, so we can be sure he’s not indoors, but outdoors. The center of the real estate building happens to be a large courtyard, and I guess that courtyard is Bourne’s best office.”
"Well done, your brain is just as good as Lisa's."
Billy explained the next steps of the plan with a smile. In addition to using a recording pen, the plan also required people to act in a play in front of Billy.
The most crucial method is to use Lisa's Gate of Hell.
Billy contacted Lisa via walkie-talkie, requesting that the opening time of the Gates of Hell be moved up by five minutes.
Lisa hesitated and said, "Moving it up early is possible, but it will be dangerous. Think it through. If the plan fails, you two could both be arrested."
Billis can finally show off his masculine prowess in front of the two women.
He proudly declared, "If the evidence is insufficient, then we'll find a way to create evidence using a recording pen, provided that the two of you assist me."
